2003 Mountaineer won't start, battery is good.

More than likely you either have bad connections from your battery cables to either your ground or to the starter. you could also possibly have a bad body ground. that is all assuming that you have checked your starter draw. there is a simple test that can be done at most auto parts stores where they can check the amperage draw from your starter when you're cranking the engine. This test is performed at no charge to you and will verify that your starter is ok.

Make sure ur battery has 12 15 vdc and if not battery is ur problem also check ur starter by getting underneath and while someone is trying to start it give it a few good wacks with a heady pipe or crowbar

If the engine is turning, but slow, she may need the battery terminals cleaned, if it has sat for over a year, yes, it may need a new battery. If the engine is turning over and she is not cranking up. Standard rules apply... does she have fuel? does she have spark, does she have compression? First thing is easy, get a can of starting fluid and give her a spray in the air filter area during cranking, if she pops off you have spark, which means no fuel. If it does not try to hit, that means no spark and more trouble shooting will need to be done. If it starts on starting fluid, you may have a bad fuel pump. AS gas turns to gunk as it dries up. yep! any good shop should have an battery, alternator, starter tester, thay hook it up to the batery and do a series of test's

check for bare wire on battery cable then check battery cable to starter and run wire if ok try hitting starter several good whacks if it starts then starter is bad put on new starter but replace solenoid first make sure connector is tight take a pliers and squeeze it a little so it is tight then try to start.
