The Jeep is bucking down the road, I had new shocks, Belts, plugs. Didn't fix it. Took it to the Jeep dealer and they charged me 1,600 dollars and it is still bucking, They want to charge me 800.00 more for a PCU.Had to bring it home. Hope you can tell me why it is shaking at any speed.
First off what is bucking? you never said, (engine or trans)????
there are may parts on the car, that can buck, shake, or surge.
the jeep keyon off on trick usually is totally useless for this problem. but heck free to try.
the problem here is the ecu forgets some error after keyoff. oops.. you need to scan it using a real scan tool....
if savvy and like danger
try to see if the asd drops, at the buck moment.
there are ways to do that. ask.
(bad dealer, fire him) try an honest , ASE shop and mechanic.
google "ase shops" BINGO !
avoid stealerships and only as a last resort. (a ride to h3ll?)
for that cash could buy a running used one. here.
it's an old jeep, and like all old cars they will be a problem.
all old cars are.
I'd have a scan tool connected, my INNOVA 3140 (does old jeeps)(this tool does old jeep OBD1 scans)
and see what codes are stored, DURING the buck.
that's right driving and scanning, wife drives, you scan... or?
if it's the engine, it will show something,.
ill guess, now,.... (useless)
1: engine bucks, actually its stalls and recovers.
the jeep has a THING, called ASD.
if the ASD drops driving it WILL BUCK, and is clearly not transmission slip, or trans gear shifts caused.
its engine, so focus on the ENGINE and EFI system
if you lose to fuel pump pressure its not a buck its a slow bog.
so its not the pump dropping off line.
its spark dropping. and the ASD does that on purpose.
read this.

what is something
if the ECU loses power, 12vdc main power,
the ECU goes off line and the scan tool shows. (lost comm)
bingo, no?
or if not that the ECU reports ASD related EVENTS (DTC'S)

I had a similiar problem it turned out be the catalytic converter. I believe there was a recall for this problem.

May check your ball joints and tie rods. Also could be your shocks.
Does it seem like its more shaking on the left or right? or even?

how long has this been happing..one tank of fuel or more, could have been bad gas, replace filter,, put gas dryier in fuel tank..if it continues could possibly be transmission related..the reving down doesn't sound like transmission though if tansmission was slipping it would rev up..good luck

Haha the death wobble replace the steering dampner or shock on the lower tortion bar of the suspension with an heavy duty upgraded one. Not a difficult repair check the tortion bar bushing for play. But the death wobble is caused by the steering shock. Seen it a lot fixes it every time. Hope the info helps rate it please.

That and other bushings and idler arms worn. I would suggest a free inspection somewhere for them to show you what needs repaired.
