Hey Derek , here is how the wipers park position is suppose to work !
Windshield wiper motor park operation is controlled by the body control module (BCM) using an input from the park switch within the wiper motor assembly. The BCM monitors the windshield wiper motor park switch circuit to determine if the windshield wiper blades are at the bottom of the glass. The circuit will be pulled to ground by the wiper motor park switch while the windshield wiper motor is operating. When the wiper switch is turned to the OFF position while the wiper motor is somewhere in mid-cycle, the BCM will continue to operate the motor until the wipers reach the park position. If the ignition is turned OFF while the wipers are in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop immediately where they are. The BCM will park the wipers the next time the ignition is turned ON.
The wipers will not park when they are commanded ON and OFF with a scan tool. The BCM will park the wipers the next time the wiper switch is turned ON and OFF.
The BCM provides stall protection for the wiper motor by monitoring the park switch. If the park switch does not transition for 3 seconds while the wipers are operating, the BCM will assume that the wiper motor is stalled, and will de-energize the wiper relay until the wiper switch is cycled OFF and ON again.
Check for a voltage signal on the yellow wire at the wiper motor assembly , this is signal to the BCM ! If there is no signal you need to replace the windshield wiper motor assembly ? If there is a signal need to have Tech 2 scan tool hooked up to see if The BCM is the problem ! Relay #39 an #40 are the high an low wiper relays in the under hood fuse block ! Do you have a volt meter ,do you know how to do electrical testing ?

SOURCE: Wipers Blades stay UP when in the off position

As far as the wipers staying up this is a common problem with them. I have a 2002 that had the same problem. There is what they call call a park tab that tells the wipers where to park at when they are turned off. Technically the tab should be replaced however I got by with heating it up and bending it back into the shape it is suppose to be in. You have to remove the cowl below the windshield to get to the motor which is where it is located. I would say the skill level required for this repair is at least a 3 on a scale of 5 being most difficult

SOURCE: windshield wipers stuck upright when off

This is a commoon problem with what is called the "Park pawl stop". The tab is most likely bent and needs to be re-aligned, then the wipers need to be re-timed. This re-timing can be a little difficult, although the re-aligning of the tab is failry simple.

SOURCE: Removing/replacing wiper motor in '93 Ford Ranger

You don't have to put the wipers in an upright position You can take the arms completely off. It's very easy to do, when you are looking at the base of the wiper arm, on the side closest to the windshield, at the base, there is a spring-loaded tab. Lift the arm on its hinge to where the arm is now pointing away from the windshield, pull the tab and the wiper arm will slide right off. Now you can access the linkage joints easily. Hope that helps!

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6. The wipers stop half way thru cycle and do not return to off position what do I need to do to fix this. I changed the wiper motor and needed to replace bushings now it is all

did you replace all the bushings? Pay particular attention to the portion of the linkage that converts the rotary motion of the motor to the linear motion of the rods which in turn drive the wipers. A loose bushing or mount here will not allow the motor to get past the point where the direction of the rods reverses

I have a 06 pontiac G6 and bought the bosch marathon blades, it shows that they should fit on the wiper arm but I can't get it to fit. Any suggestions would help, thanks.

I just put Bosch blades on my 2007. Those blades fit multiple vehicles so they include a squre plastic cap covering the point where your wiper arm attaches to the blade. I don't know which vehicle needs that cap, but the G6 does not. So throw it away. Then it will work fine.

How do you remove a wiper arm off a 2007 g5.

Hello,

To remove the wiper arm of your pontiac g6, take a close look of the wiper arm, check the lower end and you will see a plastic cover covering the bottom part, you will have to apply force in pulling it up then you unscrew the screw that is holding the wiper down, then you lift off the wiper arm.

Follow these steps:
  1. Align the rubber claw channel on the sides of the wiper blade element with the wiper blade claws in the wiper arm.
  2. Slide the blade element into the arm. Guide the element through each set of claws on the arm until the element snaps into place in the arm notches.
  3. Position the blade with the element facing up. Insert the hooked end of the wiper arm into the opening in the middle of the blade. Hook the end of the arm over the pin inside the blade and push it in securely until it snaps into place.
  4. Flip the blade around so the wiper element is facing the windshield and lower the wiper arm until the blade element lays fully against the windshield.
Hope this helped.

Take care and good luck

Hello I need help locating the fuse/relay for my power windows on my 2006 Pontiac G6. My windows are stuck in the down position.

The 2007 Pontiac G6 engine compartment fuse block is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery. The wiring circuits in Pontiac G6 are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. Below diagram and table shows 2007 Pontiac G6 Engine Compartment Fuse Panel, Relay and the Circuit Protected.

Wipers

You have two problems. The first is the wipers turn off and stay in the upright position and do not close. The motor is fine. There is a steal 'close' tab that has been bent out of position. You just need to push the steal tab back into position. You can use a chisel or screwdriver to pound it back into the 90 degree position.

The windsheild washer motor probably needs to be replaced
