Line to 4th injector went out and CEL code P0148 came on. black smoke from tail pipe nothing excessive. Cranks over, runs. new filter added Diesel Kleen and boost

Head gasket and injectors checked @ 100K as scheduled maintenance. Is it safe to drive if we are not hearing any knocks, rough idling, and should we drop the tank to clean out in case of bad fuel, and replace Fuel Control to see if this solves the problem?

SOURCE: 2006 Cummins Diesel throwing a P0148 DTC code, What's the fix for this?

Is this a 6.7? They had issues with particulate filter and exhaust maybe clogged. Therefore engine can't breath and is choked off when you step on the loud pedal. There is a factory recall before you throw more of your $$ at it, let a dealer look at it.

2005 diesel smart car starts then dies after a few seconds. changed pump. fuel filter, pressure sensor, cleaned air intake including turbo. Has good fuel pressure. cleaned injectors, have good spray.

black smoke = excessive fuel = bad injector tips , low injector pressure , turbo not working properly
take the car to an accredited diesel specialist professional for a pump pressure and injector pressure test, injector calibration and tip replacement

Have your anorobic switch on the diesel checked; it most likely is clogged; also water filter can cause this

My 92 ford is using excessive gas and has a bad gas smell with alot of smoke coming from tailpipe after i add gas

If the smoke comming from the tail pipe is black your running rich. If thats the case the entire fuel system has to be ckecked out. Injectors could be leaking, a bad pressure regulator, stuck return line ,a coolant temp sensor could be telling the ECU that the engines cold give her more gas. I don't recommend doing fuel service unless your qualified to do so for the obvious reasons.
If the smoke coming out of the tail is grayish you have a bad head gasket. If the smoke coming out of the tail is blue you have engine oil getting into the combustion chamber. keep me posted

2004 sprinter Black smoke

assume diesel engine ? so if water was in fuel ? the engine would not run even b4 it got to engine because fuel filter would rstrict diesel due to water on filter element ? can i just say that from your symptoms ? black smoke/engine runs but poor ? the fact it is black smoke? is most due to lack of air flow to manifold remove air filter element and see if smoke clears? if element of filter has got wet ie floods? it will not allow air through? make sure there is no other restriction/s on filter inlet and outlet pipe to manifold espcially check now for any weakness on pipe to engine from filter ie when you rev up look to see if hose is sucking together due to vacuum created by revs of engine? if injectors were defect ? the smoke would be blue due to over fuel injection ie injectors not atomizing correctly ? i would suspect problem is lack of air? out of curiosity?? how did water enter fuel tank ?? if any more info you can provide it may give better idea of problem ?
