Only after fueling the last four times, Ihave had to restart the car several times for it to keep running. I am told he evaporative cannister is full and needs to be replaced. Can this be by passed or mustit be replaced?
Any other suggestions
Sounds like the 'Purge Control Solenoid Valve' to me. The evaporative canister (charcoal canister) absorbs the vapors from the fuel tank).. sometimes this canister becomes 'saturated' and the 'PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE' sucks RAW fuel into the intake manifold (causing a 'flooding' fuel condition).. but ONLY if this valve is STUCK OPEN or LEAKING. Replace this valve.. go from there.
Ghost 4548 is correct I just installed a noew purge valve solenoid on my 2004 Sonata it works fine now. The purge valve is located near the throttle body in engine compartment.
If you do not have the money to buy sensor losen fuel cap or remove .
