Run the fault codes
check for a failed cat converter blocking the exhaust
check for the canister system for a venting problem

Testimonial: "thank you for your help. the cat converter is not blocked,do you know of any fuel prob that make it do this.on cool days it dose not do it as bad."

if you have an electronic problem that will show up in the fault codes
fuel quality will have nothing to do with it but faulty injector tops and low fuel pressure may have a bearing on it
have you checked the EVAP system for a venting problem yet because it it is not venting propley then there will be low fuel pressure as the pump cannot pump against a vacuum.

2002 Lancer I was driving the lights and motor shut off once I got a jump it started right back up 5 miles the lights went off the motor started spitting and sputtering shooting sparks out the back

Have the charging system checked for proper operation. If battery is not being charged properly and goes weak the electronic control modules within the vehicle will start shutting down and cause all sorts of drivability issues

95 chevy g20 van started to lose power while driving and began to spit and sputter

Ck your alternator output, should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, A bad alt will cause the battery to discharge when driving, Once voltage drops to a certain level (9.8 I think ) the ecm starts to shut down causing all kinds of strange problems, like running bad ,trans not shifting right, even the radio ! It happened to me in my 95 chev p/u

Sounds like you have a bad bcm as far as the lights ! The running rough and the cel flashing indicates a misfire condition ! Check your plug wires and see if a critter hasnt chewed a wire !

Jeep spits and sputters after driving in local traffic

When it's running poorly, how do the brakes feel? Is the pedal very hard? I know this sounds like a strange question, but I had a similar (but not exact same) problem which after completely testing everything three times and even swapping a pcm from a known good vehicle, I managed to fix, without replacing any parts but am not sure exactly what was wrong.(I believe I "outsmarted" the computer, but am still not sure what the underlying problem was)
What I do suggest is that you individually test each sensor to see if anything is out of range. I'd especially look at the map sensor and throttle position sensor, possibly the cam sensor and sensor shaft.Stop buying parts and do the testing. Only then, after actually verifying a failure, should you replace any more parts!

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
