95 caprice will not shift up or down

Starts out in a intermediate gear and runs at 60mph at 2200rpm but never shifts. Runs good with no vibration or noise. Won't shift up or down or OD or passing gear.

You may have transmission troubles. Is the fluid up where it should be? I did have trouble with shifting and my mechanic drained the fluid all out and changed the filter that's in the transmission.
I did a car myself but found it was very dirty as you have to take the transmission pan off There is no drain hole like the motor. mine had about 12 bolts that holds the pan in place as well you need to make sure the gasket is installed properly.

Caprice shifting

run fault codes and look for TCM problem. Have a pressure test done on the transmission to check for internal faults. Change the oil and check the filter and while the pan is off have the bands and clutch pack adjustment checked.

Caprice 2008 LS 6 cyl , I having a vibration after immediately the last gear shift

its a shot in the dark, but i had a 91 jeep cherokee with 31 x 10.50 tires on it, and it eventually started vibrating at around 55-65 mph, turns out it was the tires being worn out. otherwise, could be harmonic balancer starting to go.

My car starts normal but when you put it in gear it shuts off.

if you want good answers your gonna have to describe the cars condition under hood. and about the cars problem,what its doing. how long is it running before shifting. if the car barely idles or its running like **** when you put a load on it like putting ac on or shifting it in gear. check all vaccume lines for cracks or missing lines. check plugs and update your plug wires

Make sure that your new transmission came out of a 1995. 93 and 94 transmissions are the same and 96-98 are the same but 95 is an odd ball and only a transmission from a 95 will work. i had the same problem cause i was told 93-95 were the same so i bought one out of a 94 and it wouldn't shift past 3rd. so i found out later that it has got to be a 95 that goes in a 95. two transmissions later.

1991 Caprice No reverse. Moves in neutral. All forward gears OK.

shift linkage needs adjusting,,could be bent, easy fix, located along firewall to fram beneath the column, ask your son wut he ran over and didnt tell u about... hope i could help...:)

hello i would take a chance and change the vacum modaglator.for about 20.00 bucks. its real easy.also u can check to is if there is vacum at that valve. p.s it is located on the tranny just above the pan
