Either while driving or even at a Stop sign, my RPM will drop quickly then go back to normal. Its actually turned off on me twice, but lately just the rpm drops

Check IAC valve. (idle air control valve) may be cleaned sprayed with carburetor cleaner.

there is an air line at the rear of the intake check that the pipe is not blocked feeds from the sump breather can block up and make this happen.

Rpm does not drop below 1000

No,only on carburated engines it,idles down to the set point,on yours,it's fuel injected,pushing gas pedal won't kick idle down,should go down after a certain amount of time,does it automatically,If you start and drive a 5 mile ride and stop at a stop sign,it should idle at it's set point if there's no engine problems,which may be.5 to .7 on your tac.When you normally first start,it will idle between 1000 to 1200 rpm's,don't push on gas,let idle say 15 seconds,put in drive and go.

hi increase your idling steed by ajusting your throttle stop screw you will find it at the end of your throttle cable where it links to the carb hope this helps

Sounds like the EGR valve is bad and is stuck in the open position.Just replace that and you should also check the catalytic converter.

have your idle air control valve checked. on my 5.2 v8 is located on back of throttle body. My hardware was loose. DO NOT OVER tighten,follow torque spec in manual.
