sounds like overheatimg ,,,,,,, keep an eye on temp guage ,,,, overheating can be small like a thermostat or big like a head gasket ,,,, the car is old so it might be in need of a flush out ,,,, or water pump may not be circulating the coolent ,,, also rad fan may not be working ,,,, if you are a city driver mostly check if rad fan works

To change the ac compressor on a V8 S-Type is not very easy. The motor has to be raised and the steering rack has to be unbolted along with the drivers side motor mount.

If there is sufficient coolant and water pump is not leaking from the weep hole and your belt that turns the water pump is tight you likely have a blocked radiator and will need to replace it or take a great deal of care to remove the scale and lime from the radiot using a strong vinegar and water solution and repeated fill and drain cycles with time to let the vinegar sit between each cycle.

swing by autozone for parts they will show you how to change it and point out if it has to be done from under the car

you may have to replace the cowl pack itself that sit on top of the spark plug and sometimes you can get by just changing the boot wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

sounds like air lock or thermostat

They are struts and should not be attempted unless you have the proper spring compressors.
