SOURCE: Engine shakes when accelerates, lost power, Buick Park Avenue
Look for a bad coil pack. If you have the bank of three coils on the front passenger side of the motor, it is possible that one of them is going bad. This can be an intermittent problem since it failure is frequently heat related, and may not show up until the car is all heated up. It is simple enough to change one of these if you can figure out which one it is. There is a little device ( Spark detector) that can sense the sparks inside the wires. Get one and hold it close to each wire... away from the coils. The wire, that does not make the spark detector light up...is coming from the bad coil. (It is also possible that a spark plug wire is bad instead.) Good luck. Chip
SOURCE: Transmissions
Depends on what engine is in each of the vehicles. Assuming that the 1992 Park Avenue and 1995 Buick Century both had similiar engines (both being a V6), then they would both be equiped with the 4T60E transmission and you should have no problems interchanging them. Any differences (if any) in the wiring or valvebodies can easily be changed from one to the other and will be fairly self-explanatory.
Hope this helps and good luck!
SOURCE: What is the llocation of a fuel pump for a1988 buick park avenue
Commonly submerged in the fuel tank. Some require the removal of the bottom rear seat, others need entire tank dropped to access.
If memory serves, you will need to drop the tank to access on the P.Ave.
Save yourself some time and pop off the rear seat just to be sure.
SOURCE: change fuel pump on 1994 buick park avenue
Drain all gas as much as possible for weight reasons, Unhook fuel lines, unhook electrical connections, and ground connections, filler tube, and straps, then tank will drop out. Remove retaining ring on sending unit remove unit from tank taking note how it comes out because its got to go back in the same way it came out, chg. pump on sending unit there is one electrical plug, reinstall unit in tank with retaining ring, assemble in reverse order.
