Lots of good tips, but if you are describing traction control light instead of "check engine light" coming on, you have different issues than so far expressed. The traction control system can engage automatic rear braking and throttle control. The throttle control can have a device on the air intake snorkel which will block intake air to cut engine RPM so that traction can be restored.
Some scanners are built with an extra program to diagnose the traction control system.
A malfunction can wear away rear brake material. The backfiring can be from the interruptions in air flow which cause the fuel mix ratio to change. Then the remaining engine controls are struggling to correct the air/fuel mix. You get into a situation where the systems compete.
Possible plugged catalytic converter ! is the check engine light on ? You should take it an have scan tool hooked up to see if any codes are stored in any control modules ! An have exhaust system pressure tested !

The blinking light is giving you a code and according to what you have listed that would be a code 25. However there is no code 25 for this system are you sure that it is not a 52 instead? If so then this code is for a loss of power to the module. Did you have battery go dead recently? If this is the case then you can clear it yourself. You will have to locate a gray 2 wire connector behind the glove box first. Here are the instructions to clear the code 52.

make sure both plus amd minus turnimals are tight loss conection wont start the car you might get a clicking or just nothing

the enginr oil pressure switch runs the fuel pump till the oil pressure is up to the normal operating range. When the pressure is up the relay kicks in and takes over the power to the pump. The oil pressure switch my be at fault if you can no hear the pump running when you turn the key on

If you have a switch for the traction control, the stalling of the engine can be reduced or eliminated by turning off the traction control.
The traction control probably has debris inside the rear emergency brakes. The traction control works by counting the speed of each wheel. When the part that counts the speed is blocked with debris, it thinks one wheel is slipping and kills the engine and applies the rear brake to the fastest spinning side.
The motor is suppose to lose rpm until the wheelspin is stopped. Then the motor is suppose to run normally. If the motor is completely dying you have a terrible problem with the sensor on the rear wheels.
The Traction control needs to be looked at, some Brake shops may be able to fix it. A dealer would have the tools. There should be nothing wrong with the engine, its suppose to react to the sensors.
