Did you put the original anti-theft module on the new steering column ? Does yours have steering column mounted ignition switch ? Vehicles with steering column mounted ignition switches have the exciter integral with the theft deterrent control module (VTD) which is located within the steering column.

Had to change steering column in my 2004 chevy colorado now the anti-theft lock wont let it start

Check the video doesnt start because you got a different passlock on your stering culuum or put everything from your old culumm on the new that you got key baril

I would start at the ignition switch located about halfway down the column. Make sure that is functioning first.

did it run before you changed column? if so you might eed to check you plugged everything in correctly again and make sure you swapped over all the electrical components including any steering lock electrics. if it didn't you will need a code read to find the problem. jon

I changed the steering column and it came with the key already in it everything seems ok but all it does is crank and theft light blinks how do I fix problem and what is flashing column

Did you get the right steering column. Do you have an owners manual. may have to contact dealer and ask to talk with mechanics. Most dealerships will let you do that for free.
