When you use the ignition key you activate both the starter and ignition circuits. When you jump the starter motor all you do is crank the engine - you have not energized the ignition so car will not start.

My Dodge Stratus 2001 RT won't start you turn the ignition won't start but it won't start

Could be a number of things...starter or solenoid. Starter relay or ignition switch. Battery...whats the lights on dash do when you try to start? Stay on or go off.

2003 stratus has a new starter ,charged battery but will not crank

Check the fuse, relay? When you turn the Key on, do you see a security light and it goes out. Dodges will kill the starter after 3 unsuccessful security fails. If all that is good, you will need to start checking wires and the ignition switch. You'll need a volt/ohm meter.

My car wont start, no turn over, all of the electronics work fine. I hear the fuel pump working. What could it be? I parked went in a store, came out and it just wouldn't start.

Possible defective starter motor. Try tapping on starter motor with a blunt object ( if accessible ) while holding the key in the crank position. If the engine starts, the starter motor is bad. If it doesn't, you will have to check for start power at the starter directly. Possible starter motor/starter relay/ wiring/ignition switch etc

2001 dodge stratus 2.7L wont start. Starter, battery, fuel pump is good. Help!

Do the basic tests. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
Any applicable trouble codes?

I have a 1999 dodge stratus everything getting power except the starter

quick test, have someone tap the starter while you hold the key to start, if it turns over you need a new starter.

2001 dodge stratus turned off while driving, oil was empty and it wont start

If you are saying it will not crank, the engine could be locked up.
A mechanic would try turning the crank by using the alternator pulley.

I have a 2003 dodge stratus and all the lights work but the car wont crank over. I BANGED ON THE STARTER ALSO JUST NO CTANK

Check fuses, look at engine compartment fuse box, finda ASD relay swap it with horn relay. Try starting in neutral with foot on brake pedal(neutral saftey switch maybe bad). Check power at starter big wire(Need 12v+) check small wire while someone cranks car for you, you need a 12v+ while cranking, then it will go dead while not cranking. Cycle key-fob lock unlock, manually lock unlock driver's door(anti-theft problem). Check for faulty after market alarm system. (disabling starter).

2001 Dodge Stratus WOn't Start

Proper way to jump your car is to attach the jumper cable clamps to the marked posts on your car...on the vehicle that is jumping you, attach the positive clamp to the positive post and the negative clamp to some piece of metal on the vehicle...can even be a screw as long as it sparks a little (grounding). Don't connect the clamp to the negative post.
