The fan/fans may not be engaging, thermostat may be sticking in the closed position, water pump may be worn out, radiator may be restricted in flow, may have binding brakes etc. .
If talking about bringing into a mechanic and having them look under hood yes ---if stating just having it hooked up to a scanner most likely no unless a check engine light is on that is associated with over heating --some vehicles have an electronic fluid variable fan code low or no coolant etc
Go to advanced auto they can hook up computer to your vehicle and tell what's wrong for free.

check the bleed screw and bleed it till you get the air out then you should be ok. i did the same thing this summer however i forgot to bleed the air. reall easy fix....5 minutes or less need to do with a warm engine.

Check your antifreeze with a antifreeze checker to make sure it is at the right temp depending on where you live and how cold it gets there. If you have too much antifreeze the engine temp will not come up to over 200 and also replace your thermostat, making sure to realize they make them in different temp settings. Talk to people and make sure the thermostat you install is the right one for your climate where you live. Sounds to me as though your temp never comes up to what it should be. Also it could be the heater core.
