Check to see if the decal under the hood is still there it will show you the routing. if not then go to an auto parts store they should have a diagram of it or the dealer. you can also go to a library and get a manual that will show you the belt routing.

Call a Ford parts dept and ask them if you can get a routing diagram they can fax or pick it up thats the best way label take weeks to get in so do that and keep the copy in your car file Please rate my response thank you very much

1) Start with the alternator.
2) Forward to the smooth idler
3) Forward to power steering
4) Down to A/C compressor
5) Back to crank pulley
6) Forward around tensioner
7) Back glancing off of water pump
8) Back glancing off of ribbed idler
9) Up around alternator (where you started)

Jason Scott's diagram is good if you have a SOHC engine
and you can use a 3/8" drive square end into the tensioner
if you have the DOHC engine, the following link is the diagram for it

see Fig 29 for that & the tensioner at #5 can be moved with a 13mm sized box end wrench
