1996 merc sable ls replace fuel pump car starts up and shut off

1) Turn key from OFF to ON eight times within 10 seconds ending in the ON position.

2) After doors lock then unlock, press any button on the
remote being programmed.

3) The doors should lock/unlock to confirm programming.

4) Turn key to OFF and door locks should cycle one last time.

you may need to run a wire from a keyed ignition source that has power while cranking and running to the fuel pump relay and bypass the pcm to test wether it will run, if it runs put a more permanent wire in place.Not too sure what tests youve done but it seems that fuel is what your focusing on so a quick test is too spray engine start up the intake tube to see if the engine trys to run if it does it eliminates a lot of other potential reasons for a no start condition.Also try squeezing the fuel return line to see if the added pressure will try to make engine run.Could be time to replace fuel pump etc anyway let me know how it goes good luck with it

There are two 10 millimeter bolts that must be removed. Place these in your pocket or a convenient place so they will not be mispalced or lost. Also you need to pull upwards and remove an aluminun locking tab(coated in black plastic). After this is done carefully slide assembly foward. Press down on the wiring harness clip to remove it from the headlight bulb assembly, Turn the locking ring on the bulb to the right and remove so you can remove the bulb. Twist bulb out. When replacing new bulb do not touch the glass portion of the bulb. If you do so clean off with alcohol. Oil from your fingers left on the bulb will cause the bulb to overheat and fail prematurely. Replace bulb and secure with locking ring. You may also want to change the yellow parking/signal light bulbs at the same time. Clip wiring harness back on and slide headlightassembly back into place. Slide aluminum locking tab back into place. Now hand thread 10mm bolts back into place, Then tighten, do not over tighten. Now do the other side. First time might take you about 10 minutes per side. After that you could do it in a couple of minutes. you must remove the fuel tank to have access to the fuel pump

replace fuse and relay.also check oil pressure switch.it controls fuel pump also. check fuel pump wires and fuel injector fuse .if all is good pcm could be faulty it controls fuel pump on .command circuit
