SOURCE: How do you access the spark plugs 2002 mercury mountaineer

IIRC these are a coil over design. meaning the coil is over the plug. the coil should have one 8mm bolt holding it on the lower intake manifold. remove the coild to get to the spark plugs. look by the fuel injectors, coil should be just next to it or very close. coil usually says motorcraft on it and circle in design.

good luck

SOURCE: 2002 mercury mountaineer 4.0 starter relay location

The power distribution box is
located in the engine compartment.
The power distribution box contains
high-current fuses that protect your
vehicle’s main electrical systems
from overloads.
The starter relay is in position #56 of that box.

SOURCE: 6 disc changer will not eject cds==

I had the same problem for months. I checked the owners manual, checked the fuse box, everything I could think of. Then, today, I did some online research and someone said one of the CD's is probably just jammed or slipped out a bit. The suggestion was to gently slide a credit card over the disk (through the door/slot, which in my case was partially open). I just tried it. The door closed and the message said "initializing". It worked! The CD player is back to normal.

SOURCE: Mercury mountaineer check engine light help

My 2002 M Mountaineer had the same problem and was fixed by reading the code that showed a leak in the gas tank pressure via the cap. When I replaced this with a good after market cap and drove the car for a while and it cleared itself. A mechanic told me that's not possible, but it did clear and has not lit up except on start up where it lights for a few seconds to test the bulb - a normal function.

Loud buzzing noise seemingly coming from gauge cluster area. Only happens when car is moving under load, or not under load. Does not happen when vehicle is idling.

Could be seat belt Buzzer / Door / Tailgate not closed securely warning Buzzer Stuck ON since car in park these buzzers do not activate but you said under movement sound occurs .. Mechanically I would Check Altenator for Proper Charge output - Then Ground wires for Battery / Corrosion needs cleaning ?? - Plus Dash Cluster must be Grounded Tightly .

Just bought a 2002 exlorer. can't load cd's into cd player. reads cd error

I have found that any "burned" discs will not be read on older cd/radio combinations. The newer sets will tell you on the box what formats can be read...I also found this to be true on dvd players

I HAVE A 2002 MUSTANG GT. THE CD PLAYER IS MESSING UP AND HAS BEEN FOR A WHILE NOW. IT KEEPS TELLING ME CD ERROR AS SOON AS IT IS STARTED. IF I PUSH THE LOAD BUTTON IT TELLS ME ALL THE SLOTS ARE FULL, BUT...

Sound like the cd player itself has the issue. It will have a small sensor in the player to tell the user if all the slots are full with cd's or not. thats either gummed up or blocked from doing its proper job. as far as the cd error goes, thats your laser. If its still the stock 6 disc cd changer, its a good time for you to concider changing out that cd deck.
good luck bro

2002 F150 xlt cd player won't play CD's says bad disk for every disk. It did work fine, used to play original Cd's and burnt cd's perfectly.

you may have set the cd burn onto mp3 instead of audio cd... if you're using a program like itunes, you can determine the output to be mp3 or cd audio... hope that helps...

MY RADIO AND CD PLAYER DISPLAYS SHOWS TO BE WORKING, HOWEVER THERE IS NO SOUND. THE FUSE BOX FUSES ARE ALL GOOD. THE SPEAKER WIRES ARE ALL CONNECTED. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE PROBLEM.

Some high-power players have an internal fuse in line with the speakers so that an external short will not blow the output transistors. Have someone skilled look for this.

Also, check that your speakers are not wired backwards; some speakers will connect one side of the voice coil to ground. If you connect the hot side of your CD player to the ground side of the speaker, you kill the sound.
