?the button is under the radio to right side and above the climate controls ///
If your vehicle is equipped with this 4x4 system, a spare tire of
a different diameter than the road tires should never be used.
Such a tire could result in damage to driveline components and
make the vehicle difficult to control.
WARNING: Utility and four-wheel drive vehicles are not
designed for cornering at speeds as high as passenger cars any
more than low-slung sports cars are designed to perform
satisfactorily under off-road conditions. Avoid sharp turns or
    abrupt maneuvers in these vehicles.
    4x4 system indicator lights
The 4x4 mode indicator light illuminates only under the following
conditions. If the indicator light illuminates when driving in the 4x4
AUTO mode, contact your Mazda dealer as soon as possible.
The indicator light illuminates when the 4x4 ON mode is engaged.
Shifting between 4x4 Auto and ON modes
Press the four-wheel drive control to
apply power to both axles. When
    you activate the control, the
indicator light will illuminate in the
    instrument cluster.
When you press the control again,
4x4 AUTO is activated and, the indicator light will turn off.
Either shift can be done at a stop or while driving at any speed.
Driving off-road with truck and utility vehicles
4x4 vehicles are specially equipped for driving on sand, snow, mud and
rough terrain and have operating characteristics that are somewhat
different from conventional vehicles, both on and off the roadFOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4X4) SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
    4x4 system general information
WARNING: For important information regarding safe operation
of this type of vehicle, see Preparing to drive your vehicle in
    this chapter.
Your vehicle is equipped with a 4x4 system. This 4x4 system can use all
four wheels to power the vehicle. This helps increase traction, enabling
you to drive your vehicle over terrain and road conditions not normally
    traveled by two-wheel drive vehicles.
Power is always supplied to the front wheels and to the rear wheels
through the transaxle and Rotary Blade Coupling (RBC) unit that allows
you to select a four-wheel drive mode best suited for your current
    driving conditions.
For the lubricant specification and refill capacity of the Power Take-Off
Unit and rear axle refer to the
    Maintenance and specifications
    chapter.
Operating modes of the 4x4 system
The 4x4 system functions in two modes:
    ?
    The 4x4 AUTO mode provides
    four-wheel drive with full power
delivered to the front axle at all
times, and to the rear axle as
    required for increased traction.
    This is appropriate for normal
on-road operating conditions, such as dry road surfaces, wet
    pavement, snow and gravel.
    ?
    The 4x4 ON mode provides
    four-wheel drive with full power
to both axles at all times. It is
    only intended for severe or
    off-road driving conditions, such
as deep snow and ice (where no
dry or wet pavement remains uncovered) and shallow sand or mud.
    ?
The vehicle should not be operated in the 4x4 ON mode on dry
or merely wet pavement. Doing so will produce excessive noise,
increase tire wear and may damage driveline components. The
4x4 ON mode is intended for use only on consistently slippery
    or loose surfaces

My wife's 06 PT Cruiser is pulling to the right. We know it needs an alignment but tonight on the way home from work it was pulling alot worse. Her arms even hurt from trying to keep it straight. BTW, it...

I no this sounds silly but have you checked the tyre pressures on your front tyres. If so and they are good then you need to check that you have not bent something on your steering. The best way to do this is put the car on your driveway make sure the front wheels are facing in a straight ahead direction. stand at the front of the vehicle and make sure that on front wheel is in the straight ahead position the othe is also and not pointing in or out.

Hope this helps

While driving 70mph on xway, left wheel started to shudder. vibration/shudder stopped when I drove at 35mph. what do you think is the problem. car in good shape. one owner, drive 7,000 mile per year.

Worn steering parts like the Idler arm, and or the Pitman arm. Inspect your tie rod ends also for wear and replace if worn. Once replaced have the car wheels aligned to ensure the job has been done right.

Thank you fo using fixya and be safe

Four wheel drive locked in but front tires wont spin in 96 chevorlet sliverado

If the Tires wont spin then it isnt locked in.
If it really is engaged like you think it is and they dont turn then something is broken in the differential. If that was the case then it should be makeing lots of noise.
Now it is very very common for the electro-mechanical device that engages the the 4wheel drive at the differential to go bad. If you look at the front differential you cant miss the 4 wheel drive actuator. It has a couple wires that come out and plug into the wiring harness.
Usually if this part fails I understand the 4wheel drive indicator lights wont come on? I could be wrong on that. My sub is 3 years older and that was the case with it.

Door panel and bezel removal

There are two screws in the door pull (which face straight down) - remove those first.

Next remove bezel around inside door handle. Carefully use screwdriver to push in on four tabs (at the four compass headings) and pull out on bezel. These are easy to break as they get brittle with age.

Start at bottom of door (using a trim removal tool) and pry out door fasteners (white posts which fit into friction fittings in door). You have to pry pretty hard. Use trim removal tool to apply force right at fastener. There are 3-4 on bottom of door and two on each side.

Once all the fasterners are loose. Carefully look behind door and remove the doors light and speaker connectors. The Speaker Connector can be hard to get to - you may need some help holding panel. Be careful because the wires to speakers are delicate and easy to break.

Once the panel is loose - roll down windows and pull up on door panel. It has a lip that fits over top of the door opening. You must pull straight up to disengage it.

That's it all done - not really hard but will seem a little strange at first. Take your time and be careful and the seconds one will take much less. I've had to remove all four of my door panels on my 1999 K1500 to replace window and lock motors. But, after 200,000 miles the 'burb is going strong.

2000 lincol ls radio back light wont turn on

This is actually quite simple. Ford/Lincoln Co. uses an actual light bulb behind the LED to illuminate it. This bulb costs about $1.04 dollars and can easily be replaced.
If you cut a metal hanger into two 5 inch pieces and bend them to make a wide prong set. you'll see four holes on the face of your sound system Simply poke these four prongs about aninch and a half in and you can slide the whole unit out. You'll see the bulb at the top center behind the face. Pull it out and slip in the new one. That's it! Thanks Dana

Tail lights

Those are the REAR Fog lights. You should have a switch on the left side of the steering wheel on the dash. I think it lights up green when it's on. Flip the switch then the back top lights should be on.

These lights, are just for better visibility in low visibility conditions.
