    thanks mate , headrest out , so easy when you know what to do i've spent hours and hours trying to figure it out how to remove them and only took me 1 minute to take them out now.thanks a lot.

When you lift the headrest to the up position on the plastic sleves at the bottom of the metal rods for the headrest you should find a small hole on one side.Take a small pin or nail and push in the hole and lift up that will release the headrest

Just removed headrest from my 96 monte carlo to install new seat covers. Just like the last post said, except the hole for the end of a large paperclip in was on the inside (not front) of the plastic covering the post that did not have an adjustment button for raising and lowering the headrest. You have to push that button and wiggle the paper clip a little at the same time. It was much easier on the second seat!!!

Pull the seat fabric down in front to expose the plastic piece that the headrest bar inserts through. You will see a small wire clip inserted through plastic. Remove it by prying with small flat head screwdriver. Repeat on other side. Headrest will then slide out.

On the top of the seat back under the headrest the little square plastic base has a little hole on the left side, push a pin in to release lock while pulling up on headrest. You need to hold headrest up while releasing both postes.

most often the latch is located on the hinge where the back rest meets the seat on both sides of the
seat it may be a metel tab painted the same color
as the hinge. i have seen buttons on the upper side of the backrest or by the headrest.

Cant fold down the rear seat in our 1997 Chevy Tahoe
in the middle of the seat cushions in the back of the seat there is a little loop, pull that loop forward and that will have the seat's bottom pulled down to the floor agains the back of the front seats. Next simply apply a lil muscle to the back of the back seats and the seats should fold down nicely into the open space. Be sure to remove the headrests so the seat will fold all the way down. post any issues u may have.

Headrest removal
Look at the top of ur seat, between the two shafts of ur headrest. Beside one of the posts is a black plastic base on which one side has a button u push. That allows u to remove the headrest. U might have to jimmy side to side a bit as they are somewhat hard to remove at times, just do so with ur finger pushing the release mechanism.
