Radio stopped working. Displays good but no sound. What is the problem?

Please provide more details with what does and doesn't work, such as the display comes on and all the buttons seem to function properly there's just no sound, or "only the clock displays, not stations. No buttons work." Or "No display, no sound."

What it shows on the display of player...? If rafio works well ? Or totally dead? If so chk the fuse for radio in the Fusebox. If radio works good displays okay sound okay just cd does not move when inserted needs cleaning of the cd player inside.

there is going to be more than one fuse you will have to check all of them. did something else stop working at the same time? check to see if there is a inline fuse to the back of the radio.

switch some where in radio cut off its auto for cd, but stuck ofen or maybe a transistor switch, well good luck. Some of those toyaota radios are full of querks.

If its got a factory amp and its bad you will get those symptoms.

your radio has an internal short its time is up!

ABS pump went bad.

The car also has amplifiers. Check all the fuses besides the radio. That might fix your issue.

pull out the radio, make sure the conections are good, If the vehicle isn't equipped with an amplifier( i don't think they put amps in any silverados) then replace the radio.

My van radio runs on 2 different fuses- both in the fuse box under the dash. One runs the lights the other the sound. Hope this helps.
