1999 2.4l. Why don't turn signals and hazards flash?

YOU MIGHT HAVE A BURNT OUT RELAY IN FUSE COMPART UNDER YOU CARS HOOD CHECK THAT OUT THRU YOUR CARS MANUAL,IT WILL SHOW YOU WHICH RELAY IT IS?

The hazard switch gets power from the horn fuse which is hot all the time, and from the turn signal fuse which is hot when the key switch is on. The turn signal switch gets power from the hazard switch and both use the same flasher.
So if the turn signals work but the hazard switch does not power the lights, and both fuses have power, I would say the problem is inside the hazard switch.

May want to check the bulbs on the trailer to ensure the connections are solid and the wiring is in tack. May be a weak ground wire connection.

If the hazard lights and turn signal lights don't work then the problem will either be a blown fuse or the trafficator flash can is faulty.

FLASHER device go to bad, replace it in order to solve.

in new cars, especially premium ones have digital circuits for signals and flashers. they are seperate on BMW for instance. if only flasher is problematic reason can be the switch itself.

I suspect there is a problem with the turn signal/ hazard switch. turn the turn signal on left or right, if it doesn't flash, grip the hazard button and gently wiggle it around, if the signals start flashing, replace the turn signal switch. The Brake lights are wired through the turn signal switch, if the 3rd brake light works, the brake switch is OK. I don't think it has anything to do with the anti theft system (at this time)

Your vehicle has 2 flasher relays. One for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. The turn signal flasher relay is located on the drivers side, under the dash, mounted on the drivers (Left) side of the steering column. The hazard flasher is mounted on top of the steering column. Do not get them mixed up.

It's probably the turn signal flasher. It is usually located under the dash along with the hazard light flasher. If you don't know what it looks like, then go to a parts store and look at a new one. Once you have located one, then remove it. Try the hazard flashers. If they work, then replace that flasher with a new one. If they don't, then reinstall that flasher and look for another one like it. When you find one, replace it with the new flasher and try the turn signals. you don`t say but do the lights work either on the front/back on both sides.if not then it may be a fuse that needs replacing or need a bulb replacement.if the lights work but don`t flash then it sounds like a signal flasher problem.the flasher is located in the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side.if the hazard flashers work then turn them on to find the hazard flasher by the fuse panel then you will know what the signal flasher looks like and change the signal flasher.make sure you change the one for the signals and not the hazard one.if the hazards work then i would say the signal switch is good as the hazards work through the same switch.
