Cannot get the heater to work


CHECK SEE IF HEATER BLOWER MOTOR WORKING, REMOVE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR HOT WIRE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR SEE IF BLOWER MOTOR WORKING BLOWER MOTOR FAULTY OR YOU HAVE FAULTY WIRING AT BLOWER MOTOR AND RESISTOR.

Heater and air stopped working on my 2000 Ford Focus zx3


CHECK BLOWER MOTOR FUSE AND RELAY.SEE IF POWER GOING TO BLOWER MOTOR YOU HAVE FAULTY BLOWER MOTOR.IF BLOWER MOTOR FUSE AND RELAY OKAY.IF NO POWER GOING TO BLOWER MOTOR BUT POWER AT AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH. BLOWER MOTOR HAS POOR GROUND OR AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH IS BAD.

Heater blower doesn't work at times.


check both sides of heater fuse for power,,if has power and heater doesnt come on,,,bad blower switch,,,if comes on and off,,either bad blower switch or loose wire to blower,,if you havent installed a radio or something and possibly damaged or loosened a wire more than likely,,bad switch.

Heater does not work


Check heater fuse.
If fuse good - could be a failure of the blower fan motor or blower control switch.
If fuse bad - bad blower fan motor could have blown the fuse.
DO: check fuse, then blower motor.
Pricing: new blower motor: Duralast PM270 $43.99
new heater control switch: Duralast SW229 $46.99 (without
A/C).
I'd expect your blower resistor to be good - when they fail, the blower only will work on HIGH setting.

Fuse diagram for a 98' E-150 van specifically for heater fan


owner manual will tell you fuse layout. If you have only high speed, you have a bad resister. 4 wires.

Resistor —Heater Blower Motor Switch Removal
  1. Remove the battery (10655) ; refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Remove the battery tray.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Remove the battery tray.
  1. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch resistor connector.
  1. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
    1. Remove the two screws.
    1. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor.

My Blower motor for my heater on a 99 ford escort is not working.Is it the motor or resister that is gone??the fuses look ok where is the resister located can you send a diagram


look in passenger foot well on blower case for 4 wire connector.



Behind right side of I/P, A/C-heater plenum


resister bad would still allow high speed. may be blower motor.

  • The blower motor does not operate/does not operate correctly
  • Open fuse.
  • Tripped circuit breaker.
  • Circuitry open/shorted.
  • Heater blower motor switch (18578).
  • Heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
  • Blower motor relay.
  • Blower motor.

it's either the blower motor switch or blower motor resister. Resistor ?Heater Blower Motor Switch Removal Remove the battery (10655) ; refer to Section 414-01 . Remove the battery tray. Remove the screws. Remove the battery tray. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch resistor connector. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591). Remove the two screws. Remove the control assembly. Remove the screws. Remove the control assembly. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch knob. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector. Disconnect the A/C-heater function selector switch connector. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch. Remove the screw. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch. Remove the temperature control switch knob. Disconnect the temperature control switch connector. Remove the temperature control switch. Remove the screw. Remove the temperature control switch. Remove the heater blower motor switch knob. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch connector. Remove the heater blower motor switch (18578). Remove the screw.
