Transmission fluid is red. Pull the dip stick, it is light brown, change it. If it dark brown to black, Just keep it full. If it is acting up, probably to late for a fluid change.

What dose mean light say 24% trans fluid life

Means that you have 24 percent of life left on your transmission fluid.say it's good for 30,000 miles, you would have almost
7500 left till it needs changing.

How to flash transmission fluid

To flush the transmission is not something you can do yourself you have to some special equipment. You can, however change the fluid. There is no drain plug to drain the transmission like there is with the engine oil. If you have been driving this for 6 years and have never changed the fluid and filter, changing it now is probably too late and the damage is done. To drain the fluid you have to remove the pan on the bottom of the transmission. It is very messy so have a large clean pan to catch it in. you will need a new filter, but you can reuse the gasket if it's not damaged. If the fluid is black and has a burned smell you transmission is on it's way to being dead.

I have 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid and now it has about 90K mileage on it. I never change the transmission oil for it. Since it's transmission is eCVT, do i need to change the transmission fluid at all?

yes, it is always recommendable to change the transmission fluid in cars and trucks, look at your owners manual , it will tell you when you should have changed the fluid and how often.

If you've not changed your transmission fluid in a long while, are there symptoms, lights on dash that tell you it is time to change that fluid? What will tell you that it needs replacement? What is the...

There is none of what you ask, no lights etc

You need to change the fluid in the trans and
power steering every 3 years or not more than
30,000 miles. If you don't the fluid breaks down from
the heat. Basically a death sentence and eventually,
yes, you will have symptoms, but too late by then

How much trans fluid needed after filter change on 1997 dodge caravan

My 1997 Caravan manual states that the trans fluid capacity is 8.5 quarts. However, in the transmission oil change section, it says to drop the pan, drain the oil, replace the filter and add 4 quarts of new fluid. This tells me that the torque converter is not draining so you are in fact, only changing "half" of the transmission fluid.

Where is the drain plug located on a Volvo 2000

There no tranny drain plug, you must drop the pan to change the fluid and filter. Standard fluid is fne. I believe Dextron3 but double check with the autoparts store (tell them you have a volvo) and they can lookup the correct type of ATF.

Transmission

If you are not having problems with your transmission and if your transmission fluid is still red and full I would recommend not changing it. I know you are supposed to change it every 50K plus miles or so but in my experience it can just cause problems. I have and have many friends that had transmission problems after changing the fluid. But that is just my opinion...
