SOURCE: Engine runs rough after about ten minutes /idles really low

Just trowing some suggestions out there, but, I would check the idle air control valve (solenoid) or the throttle position sensor. If they check out then my last guess would be the map sensor or the vaccuum to the map sensor. Hope I was able to help. Best wishes.

You could be running to high of an octain for fuel. Try running your car with the sugested fuel rating and see if that works. Sorry there is not enough information with your problem. Good luck

SOURCE: Check engine light/gas cap will not stay tight.

yes the gas cap could cause this, also check evap. purge solenoid and hoses for cracks or kinks, the solenoid is on the inner fender and has 2 hoses, one to the intake and one to the canister, the most common cause of this code is a defective purge solenoid.

Have a kia picanto gs 2007, went to drive it yesturday engine light came on flashing stopped checked oil needed it so put oil in all good then this morning went to drive after few mins same again stopped...

Don't be too concerned about that check engine light coming on if the engine is running well. It could be coming on for something as little as the gas cap not sealing and needs replaced. You never know until a diagnostic has been done on it. Go to any Advance Auto parts shop and have them hook a diagnostic machine to your vehicle to find the problem. They won't charge for this in hopes of selling you the part to make the repair with.

How do you turn off the service engine soon light on panel

No , no joke ! a leaking gas cap can cause a code for the evaporative emissions system and turn on the check engine light . This EVAP system stores fuel vapors in a charcoal canister that the PCM - engine computer will purge at certain times . But that doesn't happen that much . Most of the time it is other componets That cause the leak ! Plus there are other thing's that will turn on the serviced engine soon light ! Your vehicle can set hundreds of DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . If the light is on there has to be codes stored or a problem with the instrument cluster . Your best bet take it to the dealer !

2000 stype jaguar runs rough while idiling at stop light. Car sometimes just cut off. Have changed plugs and filter and car is still running rough. It appears that sometimes the gas is not flowing properly...

This fault could be anything from a split or perished vacumn pipe somewhere on the inlet manifold to a mass air flow sensor and i would advise that you ask a local mechanic to have a look for you to see if anything is visable from a quick look at the engine .

At red light engine seems like it wants to cut off.

try changing your pcv valve. if its dirty it may be causing the shuttering. as for the check engine light going on and off, you may have a bad gas cap. if the cap is faulty it will cause the engine light to come on at times because of a poor air to fuel ratio.

Check engine light

RE: Check Engine Light

The check engine light may come on for several reasons
.
It is not necessary to worry as it may be as simple as putting the gas cap on without fully clicking it shut!. If this is the case it will go away by itself in about a week at most!

You can take your car to an auto parts store to have them run a diagnostic (Some will do this for free).

If your car is running fine, re-tighten the gas cap, give it a week or have it diagnosed if you still feel uncomfortable with it.
