SOURCE: my 1996 cavalier Z24 wont start

pull a wire and ground it via useing a screw driver at the end of the spark plug boot to check for spark / if their is no spark / ignition control module / there is also a crank shaft position sensor / located on the back side of the motor under the coil packs / pain to get to / also the nuetral safty switch / to check the neutral safty switch diconnect the big harnest at the neutral safty switch put a fuse tester to the yellow wire / have someone turn the key / with the tester grounded the light should come on / now we know the ignition switch has power going through it. if there is a no power at the yellow wire / bad ignition switch / does the car have a relay located at the top of the radiator core support (up by the radiator looking down drivers side)if it does not gm will install one for free / if there is / look for the purple wire coming out of the relay and Follow it down to the starter / reconnect the neutral safty swtch / touch the small S (the smallest screw) terminal on the starter soilenoid / have someone turn the key forward check the light / this will detemine if the relay is good / CAREFULL NOT to touch the big starter wire with the little one it will jump the starter / I HAVE THE SAME CAR / Hope this helps

Mitsubishi endeavor 2004 coil pack burnt out changed and turns over but no start spark plugs wet from fuel but not starting

There are so many possibilities, fuse, command module, crank signal? Is the module getting 12 volts. It is rarely a whole ignition coil pack goes out unless of a short. Was the unit burned up? If not, it could have a bad crank position signal. The cam sensor is mainly for fuel and crank sensor is mainly for spark.

I changed the icm and coil pack on my 2004 Malibu classic and the theft light turns off and try to start it and does a little pop noise and just turns over and want start up. Please help.

might have a crankshaft sensor or camshaft position sensor issue can plug it in with scan tool (can get one at advance auto for 50-80 bucks ) and if one of those is an issue it should show up in the computers memory

2003 chev malibu wont start due to lack of spark from the coil pack, checked the voltage from the ignition and its ok, changed cam sensor, changed the crank sensor, tested the coil pack and the processor...

That car has 2 crank sensors , did you replace both? One is at the front crank pulley and the other is behind and low on the engine block, above oil pan. Be sure the ICM (ign control module has a good ground, (black wire) it grounds at a bracket where the trans bolts to the engine approx at the 2 o'clock position.
