You still have a leak somewhere or it is plugged up. The brake booster is not the culprit. Find the vacuum canister and trace from there checking each line.

SOURCE: I have oil coming through the brake booster line.

The engine must have excessive blow by from worn rings or the PCV valve is plugged. They make a kit that keeps oil out of the booster it is a canister about the 2/3 the diameter of a coke can and about 1/3 the height. If you don't have one try finding one on an older GM car, they are all the same part. The filter goes in the large vacuum line to the vacuum brake booster.

When i press the brake pedal on my 2003 chevy tahoe there is a loud whooshing sound, what is causeing this?

You have a bad vacuum booster. The diaphragm in the booster is ruptured resulting in vacuum loss and no power assist to the brakes. Do not drive in this condition, loss of control (stopping) hazard exist.. Replace Power Brake Booster. Since replacement of the booster requires removal of the master cylinder, replace the master cylinder as well, It is old (2003) and time for replacement

How to fix brake booster " ?"

You will need to replace the booster. Unbolt the master cylinder from the front of the booster under the hood, then go inside of the cab and under the dash unhook the actuator rod from the brake pedal and remove the 4 nuts that hold the booster to the firewall. Then make sure to unplug the vacuum line from the booster under the hood and pull the master cylinder off of the booster being careful not to kink the brake lines. The booster should come right off.

My Tata Indica Lei smothers when I brake and I already changed the throttle body as that was diagnosed as the problem. The problem still persists and cannot be fixed. Help

I would check the vacuum lines to the intake, particularly the vacuum line leading from the power brake booster. The booster also has a valve which could be faulty, or the booster may be defective, causing a vacuum leak each time you depress the brake pedal.

Clogged line

When your brake pedal is hard, you may need to check your brake booster and the vacuum line to the brake booster if their is sanction, if their is sanction in vacuum pipe to the brake booster you need to have your brake booster replaced.
You also need to check your vacuum pump and the piping.

Toyota93 man,
I have the same problem with my 97 f-250 right now, same engine. I just replaced the booster and it didn't solve the problem. Obviously we are losing the vacuum somewhere. Check your vacuum lines for cracks as that is the cheapest. also the check valve on the booster itself. The vacuum line from the booster goes to a "vacuum tree" "vacuum solenoid"? I dont know, no one can tell me. Not even the ford dealership. but its mounted on top of the wheel well and it has 4 vacuum hoses coming off of it. The largest hose then goes to a vacuum pump on top of the power steering pump. That is my next change. I'll let you know if that fixes it. Let me know if you get an answer.

Where is the brake booster vacuum line on the 89 toyota camry?

Booster line will attach to back side (firewall side ) of booster chamber.

Should find a metal elbow coming out of the booster chamber that the vacuum line will slip over.

When you look at the booster chamber from the front, the location of the line should be at approx. 9 o'clock (as if looking at a clock dial)

Lack of vacuum for power brake booster

the booster vaccum line may have a crack in it.

theres a big round thing on the back of the brake master cyclinder.
that round thing is the booster theres a vacuum line connected to it follow the line to the intake and check it for cracks or breaks.
or the booster it self may have a vacuum leak inside of it.
if so the booster will need to be replaced.

keep me posted.
thank you

Brake are hard. just changed booster. could it be

could be vacuum pump. check for vacuum at line into booster (should be significant). if not ok, check for vacuum at pump to make sure it is not a line problem. if there is a check valve in the line, ensure it is working.
