Question about 2013 Hyundai Accent SE

Does the keyless entry operate the hatch lock as well?

I have a 2013 Accent hatchback and recently noticed that when I use the keyless entry to lock/unlock the car, the status of the hatch doesn't change. IE: when I lock the car, if the hatch is unlocked it remains unlocked. I'm currently using the keyed lock to keep things secured. Is this normal and I just haven't payed attention? I bought the car new and would think I would have noticed this over the past few years...

Original poster here. I took a look and figured out the problem.

There's a bar that connects the locking mechanism to the electronics side of things. The bar fits into a plastic piece on the lock and that ties it all together. When the keyless is pressed, the bar moves and locks/unlocks the hatch. The plastic piece worked itself loose from the bar. Easily accessible from the interior trunk release. I've attached a couple pictures, the one with the white plastic piece attached to the bar is the correct position.

Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (with Accessory 2 Way Remote)
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (without Accessory 2 Way remote)

The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors/liftgate when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Vehicle locator/Panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Your best bet , take it to a GM dealer .

2005 Nissan Sentra, the keyless entry locks the doors but does not unlock them.

does your unlock button work in car? If it does, do you have another keyless entry key fob? If so does it work? If you just replaced the battery you can try removing battery and cleaning contacts within remote. I know some of the nissan altimas had the same issue and the only solution was a new key fob. Good Luck
