How do I troubleshoot the problem of power window and sunroof failure?

I checked all of the fuses, and no problems there. The windows stopped working once before but than started working a short time later. This time, however, they have not started working and I noticed the sunroof no longer opens or responds to the switch.

SOURCE: power windows, sunroof, interior lights not working. Fuse?

I just saw your posting. Yes, It could be a fuse, a 10amp interior light fuse BUT... I had to replace the Central Locking Control module which toasted first... I had the 3 open door, no working lights/windows situation too...

The problem seems to be in the main cabin light which has the 3 way rocker switch. Turn this off (depress the side on the driver side of the car (US)). Check the 10 amp fuse for the interior light. If it is burnt, you are OK if its not, you need to replace the Central Locking module. ~$200 US

I still have not replaced the cabin light module where I think a short is. If I replace the fuse in question, and turn the cabin light on, it "pulses" for a few minutes and then cooks the fuse.

2002 Malibu rear speakers , Sunroof and Passenger window dont work

Sounds very much like you have a nick on the wiring and it maybe shorted, check your Fuses, it maybe a fuse, but if it's a nick in the wiring shorting, get it to a Garage to check, as it may cause a fire in the engine someday.

Hi, I was rolling up my windows and all of a sudden they just stopped going up and now they wont work what so ever. Im assuming its the fuse? my sunroof still works though! Please help!

There are two fuse boxes in the vehicle. 1 in the interior and 1 in the Engine compartment. You will need to check all the fuses or check your owners manual to locate the correct fuse for the power windows. The sunroof is on a different circuit so that is a separate fuse.

Driver side power window stopped working. All the other windows including the sunroof work fine. Is there a special fuse for that window? There was no indication of failure in the motor. It just didn't...

That is the one that is used most often, so it generally fails first. Buy a new window regulator at a parts store or on ebay, pay an auto glass shop to install it for you. You will save hundreds over dealer price.
