Posted 3 times why do that? this is the long answer
well there is really only a few ways?
and that is to trace every inch of cable.
find a point that is the cable is not broken. (xray eyes?)
id go as close to the latch as possible. (lacking said eyes)
then cut the cable.
and then unwarp it back so the center wire is free.
then vice grip the center wire pull and hood opens.
removing the grills on car, will make this easier on most cars.
if you follow the cable all this is obvious, right.?
its just a simple cave man cable.
now lets do cable is only stretched,????
i find the cable. and have person 1 pull the lever.
and I, grab cable and hank it. the hood pops.
some times 3 persons helps, one pulling up on hood edges.
and cursing.... dang you , open.
FAIL mode 3 (rare)
is the latch cable clamp broke or just let go of cable, OMG, do say so if true.
can be very hard to cure... if true.
some cars the latch is easy to remove grill off
not all. (or be attacked and released directly)

My hood release inside the car just broke how do I get it to maually release?
SOURCE: Hood won't open. Cable is broken and can't get hood to pop.
NO there is no manual way . get a good flash light and look at teh latch through the grill or from under the truck and try and pop it with a long flat blade screw driver
SOURCE: 1995 isuzu rodeo hood release broken under the hood
if the grille screws are accessable remove the grille which should give you access to the underside of the lock, you may need a screwdriver to push the lever aside to release the hood
Hope this helps
SOURCE: hood release will not release hood cable is not broken
the outer cable may have come loose near the lock, if the grille screws are accessable remove the grille and you will have access to the underside of the lock, you may need a screwdriver to push the lock lever aside to unlock the bonnet
SOURCE: hood release is broken...need to open hood
This happened to me. I just attached a piece of strong string to the cable and looped it through the front grill. Now to open my hood I either pull it from their or I get underneath it & pull. No problems.
