Hi guys I have d22 a 1991 navara 5 speed manual, diesel.its making a squeling noise when using clutch now just sometimes in wont go into 4th gear its like neutral,,,any ideas whats going on,,,cheers

the sound is maybe coming from the release bearing on its way out.
The gear selection issue can be the pressure plate.
i would check the clutch hydraulics first if thats okay.
next check transmission oil level and condition
if that checks out replace the clutch kit
being a diesel it will have a dual mass flywheel those cannot be reconditioned must be replace

Clutch is sticking and wont go into any gear

if you have just replaced the clutch the the plate is in back to front and the hub is hitting the flywheel bolts.
if you haven't then other problems can be bad clutch cable not fully disengaging clutch, air in a hydraulic system or oil / grease on the clutch plate ( normally indicated by a shuddering or slipping clutch

Wont go into gear

this happens because the clutch plate is still spinning with the fly wheel. If you have just replaced the clutch it will be because the clutch plate is in the wrong way and the hub is hitting on the fly wheel bolts. If you haven't touched the clutch so far then you will have to check that the clutch slave cylinder is moving the throw out arm or if the pivot has broken off. IF that is ok then there is a case of the fly wheel and clutch plate contaminated with oil and sticking
together or lastly the lining of the clutch plate has become un secured (broken) and jamming on the flywheel/pressure plate. I am betting on the plate in the wrong way round.

Subaru justy wont go into any gear

when was the clutch plate last replaced was it lately and the problem just started after the change
next there is a bush/bearing in the center of the crankshaft that failes/ dry and that seizes in the input shaft of the gear box and makes the clutch useless as it drives the box all the time
another thing is any oil or grease on the clutch lining will stick the plate to the flywheel face and cause a problem
if the clutch plates are old , the damper springs can come out /break and intere with the flywheel mounting bolts
removing the transmissions and checking the clutch assemblies will reveal the reason for the failure

Stiff gears

Are you sure you have clutch plate in right? The plate is stamped or has tag on one side that says "flywheel side".

My 2002 saturn vue won't go into gear

Sir ,
Kindly tell us whether your engine starts up properly to idle . If yes , then your problem is with the transmission system or with the clutch plates . If the clutch plates are too empty , the gear would be almost stuck . If the car is in N-neutral , try pushing it and while moving slightly try to change the gear . Engine oil and transmission oil should be checked up regularly .
At present situation you will have to have your gear system unjammed or opened up by a professional and have your gear box replaced or checked for jammed gears which is pretty time consuming and difficult job . Else you will have to replace the clutch plates and youre ready to fly again .
Thanking you , Dixon Dominic

Clutch wont shift to other gears stuck n reverse

presumably its a manual box. Could be oil on the clutch plate. check if there is oil around the bottom of the housing or maybe dripping. if this is the case then you need a new clutch and a crankshaft oil seal. Help you more if I had more details.
