Does the engine crank over but doesn't start or the engine doesn't crank over no start ? Sorry but you need to specify , because if the engine doesn't turn over it is a whole other set of problems ! Like is the anti-theft light flashing when you try to crank over the engine ? Does the starter solenoid click when trying to crank over the engine ? ETC......An if the engine does crank over is there spark at the coils ? Does it have fuel pressure ? Does it have engine compression ?

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

2008 escape hybrid won't start when you turn the

I am not familiar with hybrids, but i think when you start, it's starting with the battery, so I think you have a bad connection, check and clean the battery terminals.

My 2008 silverado won't start battery is charged

No, it isn't an ignition issue.

Check power to the starter motor solenoid.
If this is getting power when cranking, then the issue is with the starter motor solenoid or starter motor. Replace.

Grab a test light go down to the starter, hook to a good ground and probe the battery cable. If that has power probe the solenoid engage wire( its the little one) have a helper turn the key to start if that gets power replace the starter.

I just purchased a 2008 Toyota Highlander with the smart key ignition system. How can I prevent being stranded if the smart system won't start the car?

If the smart key battery gets low to where it won't start the car you can hold the smart key with the logo facing the start button close to the button then push it to start the engine.
