The NEGATIVE should have just one, large wire to the battery, The POSITIVE may have more than one at the battery.

What model and make is your truck?
Older vehicles differ widely from later ones. Is the regulator separate from the alternator? If so, you might need to replace the regulator.
On some vehicles, the regulator was booted by the indicator lamp on the dash. If the light does not work (blown), the alternator does not charge.

Our 2007 odyssey the battery died after only one year. Bought new one now four days later car won't start again. We left no lights on or radio, not even the dvd player. What's wrong with this...

Battery might have died cause the altinator is not charging 14+V Please charge the battery, donot boost the dead battery. After charging the battery check the altinator output.

Not charging replaced altinator runs till battery discharges. 97 cadillace catera

Check the solenoid. That could cause the alternator not to pick up a charge. It could also be a faulty batter, but most likely it's the solenoid. Take it to a garage to get looked at to be sure!

Find your top radiator hose look to the end of that hose thats your thermostat.

2000 catera radio stopped working

HAD the same problem and it turned out to be the battery even though all system (i.e. charging, alternator, etc.) were good. Noticed the voltage meter would dip while driving then show a charge when first starting. Bottom line is battery was not holding the proper charge whiel running due to a short in the battery. New battery seems to have taken care of the problem... oh make sure the terminals are really clean.

After installation of new battery and alternator did you have the charging system checked to see if the alternator is actually working and charging the battery. If the alternator is working and the battery is going dead overnight, you have a parasitic draw and something electrical is drawing power with the key off. You will need a certified mechanic to solve and correct a parasitic draw.
