If the timing belt brakes the valves cant move so yes if a timing belt brakes it will likely damage your engine. if the serpentine belt brakes you should be alright.

Testimonial: "thanks,..i cant get the crank to turn alone while trying to line the two timing marks back up so I kinda gathered it had collided in there somewhere,...lol,..thanks buddy..appreciated.."

My 2015 nissan np200 1.6 8valve broke cambelt will my valves also be bent

If the timing belt snaps, they run into each other, causing bent valves (most common), cylinder head or camshaft damage, and possibly piston and cylinder wall damage. ... In a non-interference engine, the pistons and valves don't occupy the same space, so if the timing belt snaps, no valve or cylinder damage occurs.
nissan are all Interference engines

Vw caddy sdi, when hot has a lumpy idle seems to shake the van, and leaves quite a bit of smoke,( blue tinted) at the traffic lights, doesnt seem to be using any oil over the last 600mile and seems to

The BST engine in your Caddy is prone to a couple of design flaws that can cause the trouble you are experiencing. Certainly, it could be an injector but could also be down to timing or the camshaft sensor. If you haven't had the timing belt changed, it may have stretched a tiny bit and that's enough to cause the problems you have with lumpy idle. Timing is adjusted on the camshaft pulley - but tiny adjustments can make a big difference. The EGR valves are also prone to sticking causing black smoke. Hope that helps a bit.

usually when the timing belt snaps it damages the valves also you have to get the head valves checked for damage if they are damaged its $$$ you have to replace if the head is not broken also
if so
you need to replace the valves
valve guaides
valve seals
and get it valve grinding

it has to go to a workshop dont try to crank the engine again as if something saved will be saved
but if you keep trying you can damage more parts

Vw lt46 1998 would it damage valves if timing belt

yes it will and most likely put a hole in the piston and snap the cam shaft if the engine is doing any more than idle speed, if it breaks at idle you may be lucky and just get away with a few bent valves but if im honest ive never seen anyone be lucky with one the normaly require a new engine. also worth changing the water pump at the same time as these do seize and will snap the new cam belt ! the only belt you can get away with leaving is the pump belt if this breaks no damage is caused the engine will just cut out ! however you will need to pretty much remove it after fitting a cambelt to set the timing so its pretty pointless no to change it

I have sonata gold timing belt braoken now i want to change it but i dont no where is the timing marking pls tell me about this

hi from the uk if your timing belt broke whilst driving? then i'm afraid you cannot just fit/replace belt as you will have caused damage either serious? or hopefully minor to the valves ie you will have bent some valves due to the designe of engine however to assess damage will req cyl head removal for investigation on damage ? the belt may have either broken or the tensioner collapsed causing belt failure ? these belts req to be renewed as a kit as specified in service manual/handbook if you do intend to D I Y ? the repair/s then i can scan/e mail you full instructions + diagram of c belt and timemarks+tensioner but advise you check out damage 1st b4 proceeding further ? hope this helps and wish you luck
