On a 2004 ford f-350 diesel instrument cluster wont work even with a new one and done check on all the fuses and radio stays on what should i do next

Question corrected for clarity.

The Passenger Compartment (steering wheel) box does 2002 to 2007 according to these. HOWEVER, although the same layout, so do different things depending on the year like this one.

You have to reset the oil change minder feature. It is done through your instrument cluster. If you have switches on the steering wheel i.e info, menu etc. scroll through until you find oil change reset and follow the prompts. If there are no info switches on the steering wheel the same process is accomplished by using the trip minder reset button on the instrument cluster.

You should never use starter fluid when the glow plugs are hooked up. It can cause severe engine damage. You probably need to replace all the glow plugs and the glow plug controller.

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task).This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

did you check for fuses , the radio and instrument cluster are tied in for illumination , check all fuses and if that does not work disconnect the radio and see if that is causing a short... they could have shorted out and you may have to replace the instrument cluster but you can get them online very reasonable

make sure they got power for stereo from the right place ie radio fuse/or cig lighter fuse. not any engine control fuses.

The 2002 F-250 PStroke 4x4 had the instument lamps poping the fuse intermittently .
Turned out to be a wire getting pinched btween the emergency brake lever and the release stop .
Had to remove the keft kick panel and there was a yellow wire coming from the lower harness up toward the dash . the wire was pinched /hung up in the emergency brake mechanism . Good Luck
