How do I replace the blower resistor motor in the A/C settings dial so that the A/C will work/blow on all 5 settings instead of working on just setting 3, 4, & 5?

Okay, first off it is not a motor, it is a small board with 4 different length coils of wire placed on it. It is called a resistor pack, and it is in the circuit between the blower speed switch on the dash and the blower motor. Car makers usually place them attached over a small hole in the heater/AC case under the dash, so that the small coils get some air blowing across them. They get hot when used because the small coils create resistance to current passing through the wire.

If your 1 and 2 speed coils are burnt out, a new resistor pack will make all settings work again. Look for a multi-wire connector up under the dash on the heater/AC case. If it is retained by two screws, that is the resistor pack.

2006 Mazda MPV front vent not working

Many vehicles that have both front and rear A/C systems utilize two blower motors; one for the front vents and one for the rear vents. Each blower motor also likely has its own dedicated blower motor resistor to enable independent airflow control. The most common failure items in blower motor circuits are the blower motor and resistor. When a blower motor fails it will not work on any speed setting. Blower motor resistors however, tend to maintain proper operation on HIGH speed but none of the lower speeds; this is not always the case though. Proper diagnosis begins with checking for power at the blower motor. If power is present, the blower motor has likely failed. If no power is present, the blower motor resistor should be checked for power. If power input is present but no output, the resistor has failed. If there is no power input, the fuse should be checked as either one of the component failures could have caused it to blow. After replacing the fuse the same checks should be made again to determine where the power flow stops and why. Your blower motor resistor module has failed. You can replace it with a little effort. The cost is around $35 to $40.

My car is RAV4 toyota blow fan not working on 1,2,3 but #4 working only I replace switch but same as before,Please would give what I do next. Thank you.

Sounds like you have a bad blower motor resistor (manual HVAC). The resistor is just that a set of resistors in serious that drop voltage to regulate fan speed. Speed one uses all the resistors to drop the voltage the most. Speed for doesn't use the resistors so full power can be used by the blower motor to make it work at full speed.

The resistor is typically located near the blower motor under the passenger side of the dash. and will have 4-5 wires going to it.

souns like a bad blower resistor.the resistor controls the different speeds.sometimes every speed except the highest will stop working.the blower resistor is almost always near the blower motor.

A/C fan only blows on number 5 and only cools driver side of vehicle.

Generally if the a/c blows only on high (5), then that means the blower resistor has failed and so the default is on high or nothing. This is located between the control knob and the blower motor on the passenger side under the dashboard. Relatively easy to replace and you can get a new one from an auto parts store. The cooling on the driver side only would indicate a bad actuator motor which may have been the initial problem which then burned out the resistor for the blower motor. I would first replace the resistor, this should get the different speeds to work and you can return the part if it doesn't work. Replacing the actuator motor takes a lot more time and so we first want to tackle one problem at a time. Let me know how replacing the resistor turns out.
