SOURCE: bypassing air compressor in a chevy 95 g20 van

Well if you're trying to bypass the air conditioning compressor, your original serpentine belt will obviously not work as it will be too long. Installing another pulley would really be more work that it's worth and likely cost a fair amount since you'd have to have a custom bracket made, or a mount to fit in place of the compressor. Your best bet would be to have your local parts supply look up the belt for the same make, model, year and engine specs as your vehicle but without Air Conditioning. The g20 uses all the same mounting locations for other belt driven accessories regardless of the presence of an AC compressor. Therefore, the belt should fit just fine. Also, you should spot on the belt routing diagram under the hood that it shows the optional routing for a belt without AC. (It does on mine anyway) Good luck and let me know how it goes.

I doubt anyone knows that off the top of their head. You could run a string through the path you want the belt to take and measure how much string it takes. This will give you an approximate length for the belt -- most parts stores could find one close to that size.

SOURCE: can i put on a shorter serpentine belt to by pass

When you go to the Auto parts store and get the part. Tell them you don't have AC and install that belt by passing the AC pulley.

If I want to bypass the ac pully in a 2005 Chevy Uplander van what size belt would I need

Can't be done because there's no way to reconfigure the belt routing to make it run all the accessories in the right direction. Get an AC bypass pulley instead

I have a 1990 buick lesabre what size belt would I need if I bypass the ac

There is no belt size listed to bypass the pump, non AC and AC equipped cars use the same belt size, in place of the AC compressor they bolt a AC Delete bypass pulley. Many aftermarket companies make these for folks like you, Dorman auto parts manufacturer is one big supplier.

What size serpentine belt does a 1988 chevy 1500 pickup take when you bypass the AIR pump?

you can change the clutch on the Ac compressor which has the bearing in it so if the bearing is seized you only have to change the clutch on the end and then you can have your AC working as well without changing the belt ,these clutch units are that expensive and if you can remove the bearing and just replace the bearing on its own then the bearing is about 20 euros or so .

The serpentine belt routing diagram for a 95 mercury grand marquis. What belt do I need to bypass the AC pulley?

Rather than by pass the AC pulley You can actually buy a dummy pulley. It has the same position and size as the the AC pulley but has a frame instead of the AC assembly. In this way you can remove the A and keep all belts etc. the same. The following site has a diagrams for the '95 marquis belt route:- http://www.bestvalueautoparts.com/Replacement_Parts/MERCURY/GRAND_MARQUIS/Illust_c_Belt_Routing.html

Hi:
The easiest method to do this is to go to an auto parts store and buy a belt designed for a truck with no air conditioning. The belt will be the right size, and you just install it as normal, and bypass the compressor
