Check the ground at the coil. If ground is good. check for ground at the distributor module. If both are good, you have bought a bad part. Both can be checked.

1993 gmc pick up 1500 fuel pump works but nouthing at the injections and no spark at the plugs

Is there a tach place on the distributor cap? If so, use a test light on that terminal, engine cranking, see if the lite pulses? A pink wire should carry voltage to coil or distributor cap. It goes got with the key on? Use a test lite and check for voltage. A couple of possibilities, check the ignition module and pickup coil in distributor. Does the distributor rotor turn when you crank it? With gm bypass ignition, it's the ignition module that controls spark during cranking rpms, not the computer.
There is an oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit, so once you crank it enough to bring up oil pressure and that switch closes, the fuel pump will run even w/o a rpm signal, but, for other components, the rpm signal is important.
The ignition module gets signal from pickup coil, engine cranking, then ignition module sends rpm signal to computer on purple wire with white tracer. If no signal, the computer won't ground the fuel injectors, among other issues.

I have a 1987 chevy S10 4x4 xcab pickup . it just died one day i rebiult the TBI and put a new computer in it and new coil in . Have checked all the fuses . and it will not start .do you know what i

Check if you have spark (coil or ignition problem) Next consider what you did when rebuilding the TBI as there may be parts that will only operate in one way or settings that have to be adjusted. Lastly is the new ECM compatible with the system (immobiliser) Use a scanner to reset the ecm program

The EST if for timing ****** when a spark knock occurs it works with the knock sensor. This is not the problem what you are dealing with. if something is affecting the idle. The idle specs are 675 to 775.open the concealment plug and make your adjustment therecansmo_209.gif

I have a 95 chevy blazer with the 4.3 .i have tested and have spark entering the distributor but no spark leaving the distributor to plugs .have put new crank sensor ,cam pos sensor...

That is indeed odd. I would suspect problems with the hi tension cables if this was not part of the ones you changed since the flow of current ends at the distributor. Check also other cables such as the ground. It is puzzling that all plugs would not have any spark. I would also recommend a scanner used to check for error codes given out by the car's ECU.

Hi. Changing the coil first was a good move. Since it did not solve this illusive problem now change the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor and I believe your problem will be solved. Joe

Check the resistance of the pick-up coil in the distributor. Reading should be between 800 to 1200 ohms. Disconnect the two wire connection at the distributor control module to measure the resistance.
Let me know.

No spark to the spark plugs

First thing to do is change the cap and the rotor in the distributor. They can cause the car to just die like tha tbecause the rotor can burn through or the carbon button in the cap can wear away. Both these can cause the spark to go directly to ground. The ignition module or pickup in the distributor could also be the cause.Very common failure items in older GM's.
