If the blower sounds fine when it does work, I would be looking at the switch. Turn the switch slowly to see if the blower comes on at points. Also while turning push in on the button or pull out on it. Like mine. high speed doesn't work Unless I push and hold the switch in. Just bad contacts.

I would suggest getting Haynes manual or similar for your vehicle. They have wiring diagrams and everything you need to work on nearly any part of your vehicle.
check the fan itself to see if it works. check the heater fuse first! if all is ok, you probably have a bad heater fan resistor. to check blower, please go here on pc for info on blower. .cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t16272_ds569146
I will try to answer and offer you a couple of choices based on 2 different potential problems.
The blower motor resistor is the control for both the heater fan blower and the A/C since they are the same blower motor. It is the boost that you need to feel either heat or A/C through the vents. The part can be traced from the heater blower wires under the hood to a control about the middle of the Firewall. 2 bolts hold it in place with 1 connector wire. But a heater line will likely block access to switching the part. It is often a part that tapping will start it working again.
Another A/C intermittent problem is low Freon. A certain pressure will engage the A/C compressor switch. Since outside air temperature can boost the internal pressure remaining in your A/C system, every time it expands the Freon; your system may work.
I had a 2003 caddy dts same issue the blower motor has probably gone bad u can order them online. What u can also try is kicking under the passenger side glove box area that's where the blower is located sometimes they get stuck. Try kicking or tapping under there and see if it pops on. I did this with my car
Did you bleed your system of air???....usually a bleed screw near the thermostat housing...get allllll the air out...simetimes the heater core is at the highest oart if the system..therefore if there is air in system..thats where the air settles and no coolant will flow through the heater cire!!
