Your car is fuel injected, so pushing the accelerator pedal won't actually do anything. That's from back in the days when cars had carburetors and that was the only way to get them started. But I'm wondering if your mechanic is talking about the Air/Fuel Ratio sensor, that will cause a drive-ability concern. Also, you can have your mechanic check to see if your car is equipped with and EGR system, if you have a problem with the EGR valve sticking open it will do exactly what your describing. I hope this info helps!
I would suspect a bent valve or two when the belt snapped. Verify the belt installation is correct and the timing marks line up. Do a compression test. If a valve is bent, the head has to come off and the valve(s) replaced.
The "check engine" warning light advises that the vehicle is in "fail safe" mode. That means only some of the car's capabilities are operational, just enough to get you to the nearest service point. You probably should not drive it any further than that. Have your Subaru service man download and analize the fault codes from the car's ECM which will indicate what the problem is.
if te check engine light is on the cruise wont work it just flashes if you erase check engine light and cruise still flashes hit cruise button twice it will go out but if engine kicks the check engine light it will flash again you have to fix what ever it is that kicks check engine light or you just deal with it
No there has not been complaint's like with the Toyota's. Toyota is involved with Subaru on a few thing's , But toyota uses Subaru technology not the other way around. And the accelerator style levers are different from Subaru's. Sorry to hear about your accident. Have a great day.
double check for sure, vacuum hose hidden somewhere,go over everything again, really make sur the cams line up ,2 cams per head or 1 cause 2 per head is tricky sometimes
Check the cap and rotor for internal carbon tracking or, just change them. Also, take a look at the coil when its dark and rainy and see if there is any arcing where the coil wire goes into it.
Have you crawled under the vehicle and personally inspected your exhaust line from manifold to tail pipe? The roaring sound usually occur when there is a hole in the exhaust line. I had it happen to my forester before. A hole half the size of a dime made my subaru sound like my old 74 chevy pickup.
