Check your accessories fuse... also is there dash lights flashing weirdly? If so your anti theft may have been tripped. Ps. For giggles check to see if your battery posts are tight... can't wiggle them by hand. And make sure there is no white powder all over the leads... if either battery condition exists then there will not be enough power going through to work the cars computer correctly.... clean them up with a battery post brush, re install and try again

2004 dodge 2500 ram will not strat voltage gauge and fuel gauge does not work and no data link to code reader

Hi Trevor , Need more information from you . When you say it won't start , won't start how ? Two way's you could have a no start - engine cranks - no start or a no crank - no start . Meaning that when you turn the key to start ,what happens ? Does the starter engage an spin the engine ? or nothing happens .

No data to the code reader ? Does it power up ? Battery voltage at pin #16 at the DLC ? Volt gauge an fuel gauge not working ? This info comes to the instrument cluster over the PCI data bus from the PCM - engine computer . Could easily have a PCM problem , a shorted sensor on the engine that get's power from the five volt reference circuit from the PCM . Do you know how to use a voltmeter to test electrical circuit's ? Video's on youtube showing how to test 5 volt ref. circuit .

2007 Dodge Caravan won't start.Batt. is good, all lights work, Turn key, solenoid clicks and stops, all gauge needles slowly move to max., and return to min. No codes displayed.

When you try to start it do the lights dim way low, have you been able to start it with a jump from another vehicle, unfortunately, chances are the starter needs to be replaced. How many miles does it have?

The mountaineer won't start. When i turn on the headlights the lights on the dash board goes dim and the gauges be moving fast.

Sounds like you have a low voltage problem.Take a volt meter and battery voltage first it should be 12-12.7 volts not running and key off. Then start engine and check the voltage coming out of the alternator it should be 13-14.7 volts. If one of these are not within these specs then replace which everone that is bad.

2004 Dodge Caravan won't start...just a clicking noise...

Check the battery first. Just because the lights are on doesn't mean it has enough power to start the van. If you or the van has a volt meter, the battery should read at least 13-14 volts to be good. If the battery is good then the alternator is good and we move on to the starter solenoid. I'm sure it's one of these. Do the lights go off or very dim when you turn the key? If so then battery.

My car won't start, I turn the key and absolutely nothing happens, no crank, no noise whatsoever. The lights work, the radio works, the fan comes on, the only thing I noticed was when I check the battery...

try shifting it to neutral then see if it will start if it does then you have a bad gear position switch if not could be a bad starter or ignition switch

5 to 10 minutes after the sensor triggers my headlights on, my headlights go out and my gauges on my dash begin to jump up every couple seconds. There is a clicking sound when it happens and my lights dim...

Check your battery connections and do a voltage test to battery with engine running lights off, then check with lights on. You need a minimum of 12.5 volts but should have 13-14 volts even with lights.

1993 Grand Prix, 3.1 L Engine, when I start it up voltage regulator shows 12 volts , when I turn on the headlights it goes to 14 volts. I have checked the alternator & starter. Both ok.

Have your battery load tested to make sure it's OK...14volts is the high limit for charging...If reading dash gauge, it's better to use a volt meter directly connected to the battery to get more accurate readings. What is the voltage with headlights and heater turned on (should be no less than 13 volts) I suspect that your battery may be at the end of it's service life but accurate testing is necessary to verify this!!

1996 Dodge Caravan Electrical problem

Its sure sounds like the alternator to me. If you have a battery charger charge the batteryup for an hour or so start the van and if you have a volt meeter put it on th e battery and see what it reads should be around 13.6 volts make sure everything is off at this time heater radio ect if that reads around 13. volts now turn on the light s radio heater and 4 way flashers and see if the voltage starts to drop if it drops below 13. volts the alternator is bad also if the battery is over 4 years old replace it.If all elese fails take it to a well know repair shop
