Brake lights not on - 2001 Lincoln Town Car

When the brake booster light and brake light come on after replacing the batteries in a 2017 Isuzu NPR Diesel, it could indicate a problem with the brake system or a malfunctioning brake booster.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check the brake fluid level: Low brake fluid level can cause the brake booster light and brake light to come on. Open the hood and check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. If the level is low, top it up with the recommended brake fluid and check if the lights go off.
2. Check the brake system: Inspect the brake lines, brake pads, and brake rotors for any damage or wear. If the brake pads are worn out, replace them immediately.
3. Check the brake booster: The brake booster is responsible for increasing the force applied to the brake pedal. Check the brake booster for any damage or wear. If the brake booster is malfunctioning, it will need to be replaced.
4. Reset the brake booster light: If the brake booster light and brake light stay on even after checking the brake fluid level and inspecting the brake system, it may be necessary to reset the brake booster light. To reset the brake booster light, turn the ignition switch to the "on" position without starting the engine. Pump the brake pedal 3 times, then turn the ignition switch off. Start the engine and check if the lights go off.

If none of these steps work, it is recommended to take the vehicle to a certified mechanic or the nearest Isuzu dealership for a professional diagnosis and repair.

CHECK OR HAVE SOMEONE CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, BE SURE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT ON!

Light gets power from brake light switch/.May be switch got shorted an brake light getting non-stop power causing it not to turn OFF brake light.

Get the brake light switch checked. Check volt at brake light switch.

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its wiring short for switch.

Turn signal tail lights and BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its blown brake light bulb. First check and confirm brake light lamp is working and that's not the case.

CHECK BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH TO SEE IF ITS TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL.IF BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH OR BRACKET LOOSE AND AWAY FROM BRAKE PEDAL BRAKE LIGHT WILL STAY ON.IF BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH INTACT BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NEED REPLACING.WHEN REPLACING BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH OR IT NEEDS ADJUSTING MAKE SURE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH PLUNGER TOUCHES BRAKE PEDAL ARM WHEN YOU RELEASE BRAKE PEDAL BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD TURN OFF.

Most likely the brake light switch located down on the brake pedal lever has either malfunctioned, or is out of adjustment, and when the brake pedal is in the "up" position the brake light switch should be fully depressed, and if it is not then dis-connect the wiring connector to the brake light switch and then turn the brake light switch in until it just fully depresses the brake light switch, and then tighten the locking nut(s) and reconnect the wire connector to the brake light switch, and then test to see that the brake lights are working properly.

If the brake light switch seems to be adjusted properly, then dis-connect the wiring connector to the brake light switch, and if the brake lights go out then replace the brake light switch and adjust it as described above.

As cadman mention to check the fuse, and if there ok check your brake light switch along the brake peddle arm. Before you doany of that, turn your hazard light on to make sure that all your light's are not burnt out. Good luck
