2000 Mercury Cougar cranks but doesn't start after running fine. I've changed the coil pack and camshaft position sensor and still didn't fix it.

Question edited for clarity and correct spelling of Cougar.
Question moved to model category.

Jeff provides a great diagnostic explanations video, and the keywords 'Don't make Assumptions', or as I call it the "Let's try replacing this" method of vehicle repair. It is expensive and doesn't work. Electronic diagnosis by a professional grade scan tool computer is the way.

2000 mercury cougar will not start

If it is getting spark I will assume the timing belt is working.
You say the fuel pump is good, so what is the fuel pressure at the rail ?
Are the spark plugs wet or dry ? Can you get it to try to start by using starting fluid ?
You may have to get someone to check the computer for trouble codes which requires a scanner or code reader.

Engine misfires at cruise speed 54-55 mph

Okay,it could be a lot of things.......SPARK PLUGS and wiring, coil packs, egr valve erratic and changing positions, vacuum leak.
Dirty fuel filter or gas cap not venting can cause problems. But those are rare. don-ohio (:^)

Engine turns over but won't start. plugs and wires changed

A diagnostic check of the vehicle will pinpoint your no starting problem, but if that isn't an option for you and you want to do the work yourself, follow these step's:
Check for spark WHILE TRYING TO CRANK THE ENGINE. If no spark is present, check to see if there is power coming from the switch during cranking. If you have spark, check to see if you are getting fuel. If you aren't getting fuel, check your fuel filter(it coud be clogged) and check ALL fuse's. If you aren't getting spark AND fuel, then check the crank sensor as it is the controller for spark and fuel delivery.

1999 Mercury Cougar 2.5 V6, had a cracked head and/or blown headgasket. Had the motor replaced now it is skipping on one cylinder.

pull the leads one at a time from the coil pack. if you pull a spark plug wire and the engine rpm doesn't change and there is a weak or no spark the coil pack is likely the problem.

2000 mercury cougar hesitating/jerking

First, disconnect neg battery cable 10 minutes and reattach to clear codes.
Lean condition means it is not getting same fuel as other side of engine.
Since you had it scanned before, try Autozone to see if new results.
You might try a TPS switch which regulates spark and fuel feed. At lower speeds EGR starts to open-you should have code for a problem there.
