You have to remove four screws near the center of the rear bumper that are visible when you open the trunk. Then remove the inside upholstery cover for each rear tail light and then remove the four brass bolts that hold each rear tail light assembly. Unhook the wiring harness so the tail light assembly can be removed and laid aside. Then remove the two screws on each side which were covered by the bottom of the tail lights. Next, remove some of the upholestry retaining pins close to the rear tailights so you can access the spcae behind them. You need to remove two brass nuts close to the outer aspect of where the tailights are located and two screws that are located several inches farther forward that are holding the more frontal aspect of the rear bumper on each side. Finally, remove two retaining screws at the bottom of the most forward aspect of the bumper (wheel well) and one at the top of the most forward aspect of the bumper and you should now be able to remove it! Hope this helps! John in Lexington
take help of the following steps to remove rear bumper on ur tucson.
Open the trunk of your vehicle.
Unscrew all the screws on the inside plastic trim that covers your bumper to trunk connection.
Pry the plastic piece out with a flathead screwdriver. You will expose the bolts that attach the rear bumper to the trunk.
Unscrew the bolts connecting to the inside of your rear bumper. There should be four bolts.
Unscrew the two to four screws connecting to your bumper from
the inside of the rear wheel tire wells. These screws are on the area
of the tire well that is closet to the bumper.
Slide under the rear of your car. Use a flathead screwdriver
to pop the plastic rivets out of place along the underside of the rear
bumper. There should be four to six rivets.
Squat behind your car and firmly pull the bumper off. There
will popping plastic sounds, this is the pop-in-place plastic rivets
that are the last pieces that hold your rear bumper in place.
I have a 1997 Hyundai Sonata, mine was located behind the rear drivers side tire; between the rear drivers side tire, and the rear bumper, lay under the rear bumper on that side and it might be there, it was for me... My bracket rusted out and made the canister drag on the ground, oops! but I hope this helps!
