Does it iddle at 1800-2300 RPS? If so have the TPS changed.

Feb 7, 2007 - Sometimes when I press the gas pedal seems like nothing happens car doesn't accelerate at all only it loses the power and finally comes to a Stop, and sometimes it recovers (shakily) and keeps on truckin'. ... Transmission band slipping.

what car is it? your car using carb or fuel injection

black smoke is flooding( uncontrolled injector operation
run the fault codes to determine the problem area ( ECM , fuel pressure , faulty injector control, MAF/VAF sensors or failed heated oxygen sensors

use a couple of cans of injector cleaner as faulty injectors are indicated

Toyota had a recall on the accelerator pedals/ cables.

open up ur throttle body u will find alot of carbon . use cab cleaner to clean it then mount it back it will drive smoothly

P2299-BRAKE PEDAL POSITION / ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION INCOMPATIBLE

Set Condition:
The PCM recognizes a brake application following the APPS showing a fixed pedal opening. Temporary or permanent. Internally the PCM will reduce throttle opening below driver demand. One trip fault and the code will be set within 5 seconds. ETC light will illuminate, the light will only stay illuminated while DTC is active.




Possible Causes

DRIVER PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THEN PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, AND CONTINUES TO HOLD THEM DOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY

STOP LAMP SWITCH

APP SENSOR


The most likely cause of this DTC is Brake Torquing the engine by pressing the Accelerator pedal and the pressing the Brake Pedal.

try to adjust the tension cable between your pedal and the throttle swing arm and if this thus not work try to clean your carb if you have a carb engine and if you have the EFI engine try to check the iddling resistor it is usually on the other side of your intake butterfly valve.
