Changed oil in bmw e36 now spark plug socket and spark plug are showing engine oil (old) Shop gave me wrong oil filter so have not started car yet as I do not have the right filter Also I changed air

IF there is a sleeve around the spark plugs then when replacing the plugs replace the seal under that sleave as well or rocker cover oil will leak out past the plug base.. If you want the correct oil filter you may have to buy genuine . Run fault codes to find the reason for rough idle . It may be a vacuum hose is off or cracked or loose.

I need to replace the alternator belt in 1993 bmw 318 is

Here is a link to a thorough alternator replacement guide for BMWs.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-89-Alternator/101-Projects-89-Alternator.htm
The model noted is an older 318is, (the E30 model), but since it is the exact same engine, the guide notes the changes with your model year BMW. Note that if you are ever looking for information for your BMW, generally info online is found under the internal model code. 1993-1999 BMWs are called E36, so in this guide make sure to follow what it says about the E36 models.

How do you adjust the clutch on a 1993 318IS BMW? When I try to start the car, even with the clutch all the way down, the car wants to go, so the clutch is not really having any effect.

Most likely it is a hydraulic clutch, hence not adjustable.
Most likely it needs a new clutch, it is 17 years old.
There could be an inspection access where an experienced BMW person could tell you if
your clutch plate surface is gone or if there is another failure.

318is with NO brakes

What about the brake lines? They could have a tiny hole somewhere letting air in (or just have air in them).

Clutch

The best clutch to buy would be one from BMW, but that would be expensive. So if you go with a pirate make sure it is a well known brand and that you get a garuntee.

If there is a ticking noise on the engine it may be that your engines hydrolic valve lifter's may be failing. The reason why it may be a running problem is that the valve lifters are part the VANOS system witch is BMW's answer for variable valve timing. you have the M44B19 engine witch only has VANOS on the intake cam shaft. I cant be shure with the infomormation I have if this looks right and you require more assistance.

Please Ask.
