Relay seems to be getting power ( it's clicking) there is NO FUSE OR FUSABLE LINK. Wire straight from relay has no power. Add power to it and still get none from the other end.

Getting a new fuel pump relay this afternoon. I did check it with a test light and there is power on it all the time both sides key off. Key on and 4 of the six terminal wires go hot and when touching one of the non hot wires (the whit/red stripe) I get the clicking. One touch one click. $63 relay suppose I'll know for sure after work today. Keep ya posted.

Not the relay. 1991 Dodge Ram 50 2.4 got new relay and it does the same thing. Ok, NOW, when I am cranking the engine gas flows like crazy but when I let off BUT when I let off the starter key in the run position, the fuel stops flowing. MIND YOU, tank is on the ground, hoses are pointing into a tub to collect the fuel. When I place a jumper wire at the fuel relay on the wire that clicks, gas than flows. WTF?

A couple of things: Relays have a power side, and a coil side which signals the relay on. Your coil side is working, hence the click, which should close contacts on the power side, and send power out from the relay.

Just possible your relay is bad on the power side. Swap it with another relay to check. The exact same relay may have other applications on your car. If the relay's part numbers match, it is the same relay.

The other possibility is the power feed for the relay may have been lost. Usually the power side, the power feed terminal, is hot at all times- battery voltage available at the relay-just waiting to be sent to do work. And if it is "hot at all times", that means the power feed is fed from a maxifuse or a fusible link. Power from the battery would not be sent there without a fuse or fuse link for protection.

If you have a test light or voltmeter, try this: pull the relay out, key off, and probe all 4 or 5 terminals of the relay plug terminals. If "hot at all times", one terminal should show power on it. If it is a hot at all times terminal, your relay is definitely bad if you find power there. Now some circuits with a relay, like some starter relays, do not have a hot at all times power feed- only when key is on, or when relay is signaled, does the power feed show up. To check this, turn the key to on, or to start if a starter relay, and now check all relay terminals with the test light. This time you should show two hot terminals- the power side feed and the coil side (the relay signal side) should both have power on them. If you only see the coil side power that made the click, then you have to check the wiring to that relay. Good luck.

SOURCE: No fuel or power to fuel pump.

If the relay is not getting ground signal to turn on then it sounds like a problem with the ECU this is fed from there. Commonly dry solder joints inside the ECU can cause this problem, they have a tendency to crack around the transistors and heavier load components and also components that are subject to mechanical vibration. He said that the fuel pump relay is located in the kick panel and the ECU is next to this. Id take out the ECU and remove the main circuit board and examine for dry solder joints. If you don't know what they look like its somthing like this http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelayoperation/dry-joint_small.jpg

Hope this helps

SOURCE: i can get power th the fuel pump when i run a hard wire from the battery to the relay but when i put the relay back in no power to the fuel pump

I have a question. Turn the ignition on you should hear the pump for about 3 seconds. then it should stop. this is normal operation. then when a signal is sent to the ignition that you are going to crank it then it switches on. I can see how this can seem like the pump is not working but after you crank it you should be able to hear the pump for about 1-1.5 seconds after the crank then it will stop. The pump will not turn on until it is told to do so by the computer.

Where is fusable link

Hi,
The fusible link is a WiRE with a connector socket.
Most of the fusible link is located at the engine bay fuse box/relay.It is use as a main power source fuse for high amperage voltage.

Hope that helps.

We put a new gas tank in and new fuel pump but now we are not getting any power to the fuel pump, what are the possible causes and how can they be rectified?

First. Make sure the ground from the pump is good.
Next. there is a fusable link wire(rust col.) at the starter solenoid. check if burn't. The link wire joins a red wire to a 20amp in line fuse. From the fuse is an
orange wire that go's to the fuel pump relay, located on the relay bracket under the hood right front corner.
Follow this trail and you should find the problem.
Hope this helps.

Drivers seat heater will not switch on. New fuse installed.

the switch works the relay, the relay powers the heater, being a 12volt heating element, it's bound to have a good size wire going to it, make sure the wire feeding that relay is hot, it will be a larger inline fuse or a fusable link,it will come off a main power source,I.E. the starter or something like that, the small fuse you replaced is for the relay curcuit, good luck

I need help with the underhood fuse and relay

Have you checked the fusable link wire near the starter? I think you will find it blown. If its not near the starter it will be near the under hood fuse block.
I hope this helps.

No electrics

If you had smoke coming out of the fuse panel, the culprit fuse/ relay will most likely be scorched. My bet is on a fusable link which normally looks like a short, fat wire but will probably now look like a melted, fat wire in the panel.
Good luck!
