Hi Robert, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.
I look forward helping you with your problem!
Robert, if your radio is a Chrysler radio that came with the vehicle then your problem is not a code issue. Two things may have happened. (1) You may have blown a fuse while replacing the battery. Check all fuses. (2) The Radio was on its last leg and the battery change may have help it go out. Here, one thing you can try if the fuses are good. Pull the radio out and try unplugging and reinstalling the connectors at the back of the radio. Some times this will kick start the radio back to life. If not you'll need a new radio, sorry for the bad news. If you should need further assistance click here. Auto Repair
You have to go to a chevy dealership to have them unlock the radio. They use a special code that will unlock the radio and then allows you to pick a new code. Hope this helps.
someone (hopefully you) set the 3 or 4 digit security code on the radio. when power is disconnected, like if someone steals your radio, the radio locks and cannot be used. the code can be from 000 to 1999. the hour and minute buttons are used to enter the numbers. 2000 choices - good luck
to unlock the system:
1 turn on ignition - LOC will appear
2 press MN and '000' will appear
3 press MN again until you see the last 2 digits of the code you want to try
4 press HR until you see the first 1 or 2 digit of the code you want to try
5 press AM FM
6 SEC will appear if you got it right - LOC will show if you got it wrong
good luck
Most likely there is an anti-theft code for the radio and you must enter that code to enable the radio. This will happen when the is battery is disconnected. If you do not know the code or the procedure for entering it consult your manual. If you do not have the manual or code you will need to have the dealer reset it for you.
if you bought the car new then there should be writen in the manual the
code for the theft lock system on the radio. if pre-owned then it might
,might not be in there. or if you dont have one at all. go to your
nearest GM dealer and have them fix it by finding the code. make sure
to have them write it down for you incase this happens again.
