Can the immobilizer or central locking be switched off in a Nissan Almeria 2001 car?

The drivers door cant be locked manually, when the key is inserted into the lock nothing happens this is how it was when we bought the vehicle about two years ago, now when the fob is pressed in the key it drives the immobliser/central locking mad(tends to run the battery down also) so at the moment i don't use it at all and the car cant be locked

You can remove the central locking fuse , this will stop the lock/unlock constantly , the problem is usually with the drivers door lock mechanism , that is perhaps why you cant lock/unlock with the key, lock from inside vehicle and get out passenger side, that lock should work with the key until you get the lock changed on drivers door

The fuse has gone on my 2004 nissan x trail central locking system can only lock drivers door and with key only .Problem is cant locate the fuse

Your problem is the interior light switch fuse has blown!which also serves the central locking system, located in the fuse box just above the drivers footwell (10amp) (well awkward). Replcace with one of the spare fuses supplied and all should be well. If your interior lights are not working (except boot light) this is a dead giveaway. Good luck.

Drivers door lock!

Try squirting some WD40 into the lock and moving the key back and forth which may free it up.

Other possibility which works on many cars is to swap the driver and passenger locks around.

Door and Boot Locks

the problem lies in the drivers side operating switch for the central locking .this would involve removing the drivers side door handle and checking the switch mechanism thats built into the lock, havent done one o n this model only a opel astra ---but they are different from the opel although the car looks the same ,well similar pull it off have a go ,the key barrel must turn something so look for an internal switching or external switching and see if the spring is ok that returns the switch

I have a bmw 316ti compact on a 52 reg. The central locking gave up working 3mths ago and we was useing the key to lock and unlock the car, then all ov a sudden we couldnt start the car.when you put the...

with any BMW they have their problems, one is the central locking/immobilizer, the central locking is linked into the immobilizer and vice versa, the immobilizer takes it signal to disarm from the central locking and the ignition key ring. (chip in the key) if one of these starts to play up it has loads of consequences this being one of them. they all need to work together for the system to work properly. you would need to read the alarm and immobiliser codes using an ob2 tool that can detect them, and find the fault some problems it can be the drivers door sensor in the lock this is the main door as its drivers side and it controls all other doors on the central locking. if the switch is worn in any of it movements the system will not know the door has been opened, this does not work on the interior light as that is a switch in the door frame. the door lock is lock unlock and deadlock with key with remote fob its also arm disarm alarm and immobiliser. i have seen in some models there is a sensor auto lock so when you walk away with the key the doors lock automatically all lease parts work together. any one having a problem can cause no signal to be sent to the others in the system to start engine .
