Some vehicles require you to keep power all the time, so when u changed the battery you should of connected the new one via jump leads before removing old 1, you have lost the memory & it now needs resetting something only a garage can now do, but check internet in case there is a hidden reset you can access when u turn ignition, usually holding down a button till a hidden menu pops up.

SOURCE: '03 Honda Accord won't recognize CD player after battery replaced

I have a crv also. the audio system has an anti-theft mechanism, to deter thieves from stealing your cd player/radio. you need a code to turn your unit back on, usually a four or five digit code, that should have been provided when you bought the vehicle. If you don't have it, the unit will come back on after, and only after a full, uninterupted hour of driving.

SOURCE: 1998 Honda Accord EX V6 2 Door - Radio Error Code on Display

No-one is ever particularly happy to here this, but this is the way it is; we do have to keep in mind that the original idea of codes on radios was to prevent people who steal them from being able to use them.

So, if an audio unit with theft protection is disconnected from electrical power, you must enter a unique code number into the unit or it will not work. This code and the audio unit’s serial number are listed on the anti-theft ID card that comes with the vehicle. If this card is lost, you must obtain the audio unit serial number in order to get the radio code (some people say that they have found the code on a sticker inside the glove compartment, but I wouldn’t count on that). Some newer vehicles allow you to retrieve the audio unit serial number electronically from the radio. Refer to your owner’s manual for the specific procedure (the following usually will work: Turn the radio off. Push the preset 1, preset 6, and power buttons at the same time, then quickly release. The serial number will come up in two sets of numbers.)
Some older vehicles (model year 2003 and older) require a visit to the dealer in order to retrieve the audio unit serial number (or you can remove the unit and get the serial number from the back of the radio). Once you have the audio unit serial number, you can call Auto Customer Service at (800) 999-1009 or have the dealer look up the radio code.

Here is the URL for the Honda Owner page. If you register (no charge) you are able to get radio codes using the VIN number of your car, the serial number of your radio, and the
Phone Number and Zip Code that you give them when you register.

Hope this helps you with the process.

I HAVE THE CODE FOR THE HONDA BUT IT SDTILL DOES NOT WORK WHEN NUMBERS ARE PUNCHED, IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I AM SUPPOSE TO DO........

After 3 tries, it wont even accept the code on the radio display, showing the ERR condition. Disconnect the battery for 15 min. This will erase the ERR condition, and allow you to introduce the reactivation code.

I need a code number of radio Honda Accord 1998 serial no.M97A189067

Nobody is supposed to have the complete database of codes, only authorised dealers. As a security measure, any time the battery is disconnected, the radio is Locked Out, and will not function until the security code is entered on the radio itself. Furthermore, after 3 tries, it wont even accept the code on the radio display, showing the ERR condition. Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership. When you get hold of the code, disconnect the battery for 15 min. This will erase the ERR condition, and allow you to introduce the reactivation code.

My radio on my honda accord keeps showing code e, what does that mean?

Means that it is requesting the code (anti theft) to reactivate the radio. In all probability, the vehicle battery was disconnected and the anti theft tripped.

Radio code

If you have tried a few times before NOT entering the right code or making error when entering code. This radio will lock you out, here is what you do disconnect battery cable for 60 seconds (positive cable) or disconnect radio fuse. Then re-enter code make sure that you are pressing firmly on number and make sure that you enter correctly.(POWER ON RADIO SHOULD BE IN ON POSITION WHEN DOING THIS) If this doesn't work then you will need to go to HOnda and fora fee they will be able to get code. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
