You maybe able to just remove the filler pipe and get a small siphone hose and get most of the gas out. You can also bypass the fuel pump relay and pump it out from the fuel line. Just don't run pump dry as it will ruin it. Get as much out as you can fill with good gas and add bottle of dry gas and change fuel filter.

Hi Stacy

Fuel treatment would be your cheapest option by far. Give it a shot, paying attention to the directions on the bottle. You certainly can't hurt anything by trying it.

Good Luck

HOW DO I FIX THE CAR AFTER WATER WAS THROWN INTO THE FUEL TANK?

have to remove the gas/water in that is in the tank by removing the tank so you can turn it upside down and make sure every drop of the gas/water is out of the tank siphoning it out may leave some old gas/water in the bottom of tank then get rid of it let the tank dry out for a day and reattach it, then refill your tank with gas it may screw up for a little bit until the gas/water trapped in the fuel line is totally gone.

I would run a compression check and bleed test to see if you have a weak cylinder due to a cracked head or bad valve...if you sucked some water in the intake or through the exhaust it could of done some internal engine damage.

What is the best way to access the fuel pump to repalce it without adding expenses? They want to cut the floor and do it. Will this cause problems in the winter? We live in Michigan with a lot of deep...

Too bad GM doesnt provide a cover to access tank without dropping the tank. I would think creating this "hole" would be quite the endeavor and done correctly would add quite the additional time and expense. Decline cutting holes and drop the tank in order to service the pump/sender. Any reputable repair firm should or would never recomend this measure in order to access the pump in the fuel tank I would hope....

Fuel pump trap door?

Cutting a hole in the trunk is not a bad idea, but you will have a problem. The hoses and wires are very close to the body and chances of cutting into them are good. You are limited in what you can use to cut the hole with. any power tools will make sparks (what you don't want anywhere near a fuel supply) You cannot use a torch either. A hole saw is the right way to cut the hole but it will be expensive for a good one that size and you cannot use it with the tank installed. You can use a good pair of sheet metal shears but the hole will be sloppy and unprofessional (and extreme care still must be used so stuff does not get cut.)
Your best option is to bite the bullet and do the job correctly. Once the tank has been removed and is far away from the car, clean up all fuel residue (if you can smell fuel it's still there), then you can cut a nice hole for future repairs. You don't need instructions to cut a hole...make it large enough to get the pump through and so you can access lines to remove connectors. Make a nice cover for it and use very very short self tapping screws and silicone sealer to prevent leaks.
If you do opt for cutting without removal, at least put a piece of sheet metal between pump connections and floor to avoid damaging wires & lines. (you may need to loosen tank straps to do this.)
Good luck

2000 Ford Expedition Starting problem

If the fuel gauge drops off when you are driving then its a sending unit problem that means you have to drop the tank and replace the float and sending unit. This is a common problem for alot of cars because of cheap gas. If you have to drop the tank check the fuel pump canster for dirt because of cheap gas. Replace the fuel pump strainer and fuel pump filter. If the car or truck has about 100,000 miles you might want to change the fuel pump at that time also just to cover your back. If you take it to a shop they will charge you at least $900 to start. But if you do it yourself it will cost you about $200 dollars maybe alittle more.
